It may be possible, it seems that he hinted the pairings through chapter covers, e.g. Gajeel and Levy, Elfman and Evergreen, Natsu and Lucy, Mirajane and Laxus, Gray and Juvia. Mest and Wendy cover has ever been published in Tenroujima arc
