I
If you don't think that nalu are a couple and that hiro mashima will make them cannon in the end then either you are trolling or are simply someone not worth messaging back. Nalu has gotten more attention than any couple and hiro mashima made the big 4 clear on his twitter with those spinning posts messaging you has being a waste of my time.
Finally read your private message. Copy + paste, except you ended the message with calling me a "retard." All I need to not ever take you seriously, thank you. Also backs up my point about Natsu-Lucy shippers.
Why can't Hiro's twitter be used as support for a pairing? Sure the pictures he draws might not necessarily be part of the main storyline, but they give us a window into his mind. They let us understand how Hiro likes to see his own characters. At the very least, we can say that he's drawing what he enjoys. If he enjoys putting two characters together in his twitter doodles, then that's a really good sign that he probably has plans to make them cannon in the storyline. Hiro usually doesn't give spoilers on his twitter, so you don't have to worry about him giving spoilers like "Natsu is going to die and Lucy will end up with Laxus". Though honestly if he did announce that he intended to have that be the case in future chapters, I really don't see why we should doubt him if he's being serious about it.
Because it's not in the manga, therefore it's not canon? I mean, for all we know, Hiro doesn't care about Natsu-Lucy, he just wants to tease people with the pairing. When is he going to make them canon in the storyline? When the manga ends? The only difference between that and the ending of Bleach and Naruto would be that Natsu-Lucy makes sense, and no one who isn't against the shipping should have a problem with it.
Obviously an example. But I also don't see why we shouldn't doubt him. As bad a writer as Hiro is, he's not dumb enough to announce his plans for the manga, other than possibly saying "Gray will look awesome this year!" or "maybe I'll work on Natsu-Lucy this month!" Which is not saying much anyway. I still see no reason to go by Twitter, especially if he's just providing fan service for his ardent Natsu-Lucy fans as they barely have any romantic moments together compared to Juvia and Gray or Jellal and Erza.
When Hiro gives out a tweet like this, I don't see anything wrong with NaLu fans using this as something to reinforce their belief that Natsu and Lucy are likely to become cannon. Now I don't believe NaLu is cannon just yet, but I feel the amount of fanservice they've been getting since the timeskip has been increasing. Mashima did say that he's going to introducing more romance into the story, and 3/4 of the most popular pairings have gotten strong moments in the Alvarez arc. The way I see it, it's only a matter of time before Natsu and Lucy eventually follow suit.
They act as if it's fact or proof of development when it's not. It's not in the manga, therefore it shouldn't be taken as anything but artwork/fan service. The fact is, there's nothing there now, and there was not much there in the beginning to suggest romance or development of relationship towards love. It's just friendship at this point, they care about each other deeply, trust each other deeply, and will risk their lives for each other, but in no way does that ever say romance or budding romance.
As long as it's done well (even Kishimoto cannot possibly fuck this up), it's all good with me. Hell, I'd probably accept either side confessing, even if the other side is unsure, just because at this point, that's all it should take. but right now, it's not canon pairing, it's just an assumed/potential canon pairing.
