Haters gonna hate, Butthurted gonna bait, but Nalu is Canon and great
Dragon Cry is the second movie which Mashima storyboarded and acknowledges to be canon in the manga (I don’t remember which chapter it is mentioned). The movie had a lot of nalu subtext but what @strikefreedom is referring to is a scene where Natsu is unconscious and pictures his friends from his perspective. Lucy is the last one seen and she’s holding his hand and smiling at him. It makes it quite clear he sees her in a different light than the rest. It’s much like the scene in tartarus where gray sees juvia during his fight with silver.Yeah and none of the three have any romantic interest in anyone. Edward showed obvious signs of his romantic interest in Winry while Naruto confessed he had a crush on Sakura. Hell, even Sasuke showed he had some soft spot for Sakura, and that's more of a romantic development than Natsu and Lucy ever had, and SasuSaku makes no sense whatsoever. Ed wasn't that indirect either, he proposed to Winry, whereas all Natsu did was state he wanted them to be together, which can mean friendship. Ed made his proposal and interest in Winry clear for many chapters whereas Natsu never did.
Not knowing the concept of love is not an excuse when he's shown no signs of it. That's like saying Luffy is into Nami just because he's hellbent on having her with him on adventures, and that he hasn't said anything because he doesn't understand concept of love. If he had romantic interest in Nami, it'd be far more obvious. Lucy's romantic feelings for Natsu is obvious because while she hasn't said anything, we've seen how she acts towards him. Natsu however, can prefer Lucy because he sees Gray as a rival and is scared of Erza, whereas Lucy is a pushover.
What's Dragon Cry? Is that a chapter or a filler episode? And I highly doubt they'll be in a relationship unless Natsu is tricked into one like Goku was. In order for that to happen, Natsu actually has to want to be in one and show he has romantic interest in Lucy. Fan arts don't count.

To be honest, I feel like we already had some pretty solid development in terms of Gruvia. (Chapters 416, 453, 499 especially). Those were meant to be major developments in solidifying their bond, and I’d say the ending was mainly a full-circle event where Juvia was stripping and Gray was possessive. At the very least, Mashima meant for that to be the signal that the relationship was there.Gruvia, must be shown more and shown a real development.
But you'd show a sign of romantic interest and not just go on treating the guy like a friend/bro.In regards to saying what natsu said was friendzoning, I don’t know what kind of relationship you have with your friends, but personally I wouldn’t hold my guy friend’s hands and tell them I wanted to be together with them forever unless it was romantic. but I guess that’s me lol.

(I base this on my own conversation with Mashima and the Japanese raws.)

Then he should make it happen in the manga. So as you guys know, there was a manga comic con in Germany that Mashima attended on the 22nd and check this out that someone that was there had live tweeted of some good news that may please a lot m of people (and maybe displease some if they’re not a fan) about a certain pair:

Or maybe this is all a scheme to keep the discussion about Fairy Tail alive and kicking and we're all falling into his trap. Evil mastermind, Mashima. Then he should make it happen in the manga.
"Mashima wants NALU to happen" and he doesn't progress the relationship in the most important place i.e. the manga.Just make it cannon in the manga and stop all shipping war.
He is pathetic in writing romance in manga, just read Tokyo Ghoul or Inuyasha or Full Metal Alchemist to see how well romance is done there.YES! That is such great news!! I'm so giddy and happy right now
