I respect that, but Thunder God and She-Devil kind of just writes itself. He's hard on the outside and big softy on the inside while she's a big softy on the outside and hard on the inside. Plus, I don't think there's more with Cana. I think Mira and Laxus have been shown together and converse with one another more than Cana and Laxus. It was even the most viable (the only one which Lucy rejected and the one with biggest panel) one in the who's Laxus going out with at in the final chapter.

So I think Miraxus is a more solid relationship for Laxus than Canaxus. I really loved in Tartarus how she came to see him while he was hurt and Elf did the same for Ever. Shows how interconnected the Strauss sibling and Thunder Legion are.
She's the only person he"s ever hyped in the series.
There's also more art created for Miraxus by Mashima, he also doodles them as a couple on chapter covers, and they are together when we had that couples page in Alvarez.
