Creation of Crime Sorcière, the search for Zeref through Dark Guilds like Avatar and such. We didn't get much of jellal since the story mainly followed FT, but we know he tried.
All that amounted for nothing. He didn't even help take down Avatar.
Okay and how does that matter to what I said? His group exposed them to Erza which inevitably led to Avatar going down. Though I never said he took down Avatar so idk why you brought that up.
You said he "tried" to do his mission but he never tried for it. He didn't take down any major antagonists, didn't take down any dark guilds or even help, and didn't take down or even get to Zeref.
Except he did try that much was pretty obvious. Just because he failed doesn't mean he didn't try.
In what way did he try? I've asked this three times now. There are characters that have done his mission better then him without even trying.

But he didn't try. He had no hand in taking down Zeref. Not only did he not take down Zeref directly or any of his subordinates, he did not take down any of the guilds revolved around him.

Because Hiro wanted the main characters to mostly do it
Jellal is a side character like everyone I mentioned.
Laxus did help them with Hades so I guess you can count him. Both none of the other one I cannot think of any mostly because I’m thinking about the head villain in each arc while you’re thinking of every villain

Each person I mentioned had a direct hand in taking down a Spriggan who was a major antagonist.

He tried when he made a guild specifically to take down dark guilds and Zeref. He tried when he was shown investigating during the GmG. He tried when he exposed Avatar to Erza, implying he had more important matters to investigate. He tried against the Spriggans, he succeeded in subduing Oración Seis.
Took down 0 dark guilds and didn't pose a threat to Zeref. Team Natsu would've taken down Avatar so he didn't do anything. Didn't do anything against the Spriggan and beat Oracion Seis when they weren't a threat. Tartartos was the threat.
That’s like saying Natsu didn’t beat Jacob Mirajane did
No he didn't, he temporarily put him out of action but didn't beat him in the end.

We don't know that since they're were multiple dark guilds around the continent and Ratrace sent the panel. Team Natsu wouldn't have known of Avatar if it wasn't for Jellal. Wrong, he beat Neinhart helping in the retaking of the town. A bunch of rag tag criminals weren't a threat? Okay....
No named fodder dark guilds aren't important.
