Somewhat offtopic fyi: Have anyone tried this Pokemon Fusion? It mixed two Pokemon together to see what they will look like.

Introducing a type that late in the game would be a disaster. I found the implementation of Dark and Steel not super smooth, when you could bite a psycho and it was super effective, but tackle a Magnemite and it would do not much damage.

Adding some new type, lets call it Fairy, would mean all previous gens' Pokemon as well as attacks would need to be adjusted as well. I don't think it is practically possible doing it in the sixth gen.

On the other hand there's always been this mysterious Curse attack, that for whatever reason was not Ghost type but ???. I always found that fact pretty bothersome for whatever reason.

New types were introduced to fix and balance out the type chart. For example, in Gen 1 Psychics were too OP, thus Dark and Steel were introduced to counter that.

Now introducing a new type now is strange, but this is the best point to do it if they were gonna do it, since they would already be creating and overhauling the system from square one anyway. Though really, not all pokemon and attacks would need to be adjusted, only those which would either end up super-effective or non-effective.

The second looks more like a crappy dragon type to me though, rather than a Beedrill bug.

Yeah, the butterfly and the seahorse are quite....ugly, but the other ones to me are good, especially the wyvern and the lobser one.
As for the Fairy type, I'm fine with it and if it will make pokèmon like Jigglypuff, Gardevoir and many others strong against dragons, then even better.
This game will really be an amazing one.

Making them effective against dragon types is a smart move actually.

Though I'm really not digging the new designs...I don't know if it's the colors or whatever, but they seem strange to me.
