I've got to say the trailer surprised me. I like the design of the starters a lot, but Popplio seems like another Seel ripoff in a way. I really like the design of Solgaleo, Lunaala doesn't really appeal to me that much. And yeah, a region based off Hawaii. Its a shame its not based off Australia instead aha, but I'm looking forward to the games. I'm hoping that they can improve on what the last two generations have offered, as I feel that Gens 5 and 6 have been quite lacking. I'll probably get Sun for Solgaleo at this stage.
Also the Japanese trailer (which was better) revealed character customization is making a return which is pretty cool.
Fire starters usually look better and it is the case for this gen too. Must be the first time I like the Grass starter more than the Water type, Popplio's design is horrible.
First time the grass starter is my fav. Gotta wait for the final evos though. And stats too, hate playing slow pokemon. Rowlett is pretty fun and cute- Llitten is okay, but a little mediocre, feels like it's final evo could be pretty cool though. Popplio doesn't appeal to me at all. Both legendaries look good and the region feels interesting. Though am I the only one, who got the impression that it is actually quite a bit smaller than previous regions?

are you people for realz? the grass thing looks like some stupid daruma doll.
the seal is the worst yeah, who needs that after dewgong and walrein. i like the idea of a water/ice starter though.
and the cat thing, what's that supposed to be, a take on fire/dark?
but maybe it all ain't and there is an other second type cycle in the starter cycle.
Honeslty, I'm excited for this new gen and while the starters may not have an elaborate design, I think that's for the best.
Besides, just because their design is simple, doesn't mean they're bland or anything IMHO.
My favourite one has to be Litten; I love that attitude of his. XD
As for the region, it looks beautiful and colourful, which is a nice change!
Welp, I have been playing a nuzlocke of fire red. Man, so many fallen ones.... I thought my hypno was reading for koga once he got psychic but how wrong was I.... Almost lost half my pokemon.... Even my gyarados was left with 2 hp, leftovers saved his life. Now I gotta get a new pokemon to replace him.... I guess it is about time I start training that dratini.... I am not sure if I should stick to my primeape but he seems like he can be useful in the future at least.
Other fallen ones include beedrill, pidgeoto (I was really counting on that pidgeot), rattata (not much of a loss but at the time my team too a big hit), zubat(called him batman... and because I used pidgeoto to kill zubats I called him the batman slayer), oddish died at full health from a surprise crit (was appropriately called radits). I really wanted that vileplum.... Thinking about it I have not been that effective at catching pokemon either. There have been a few other fallen ones but I can't remember them at this point.

Welp, I didn't have to make the primeape decision. A suicidal koffin took it for me....

Woohoo, completed my nuzlocke in fire red! My final team was dragonite(smaug), executor(treebreard), snorlax(fatbastard), jolteon(zeus), charizard, and gyarados (ronda). My only casualty was dragonite, I almost lost a couple others but they pulled through. Halfway through the thing I noticed I forgot to level up snorlax (level 48 when everyone else was above 54) but he still pulled through. All hail the glorious dead! The path to victory is tainted with the blood of weak pokemon!
Your posts remind me of the fact that the only way to make a Pokèmon game challenging is to impose to yourself some rules...
I wish they could put difficulty levels, like they did with BW2, because honestly the games aren't that hard anymore...
Hell, even RBY are harder than the most recent games!
Anyway, tomorrow is the big day, for there will be another Sun & Moon coverage!
I've been doing mono-type runs a lot, or trying to replicate some poketrainers' teams. doing it with brock was quite challenging, due to the many weaknesses and low sp.def stats.
They just released a brand new trailer for Sun and Moon, and I've got to say I'm a bit disappointed with Solgaleo and Lunala's typings, as well as how the region seems to be four islands. It does seem a bit underwhelming to say the least. The rotom in the Pokedex seems like an alright touch though.
Agreeing on the types being a bit disappointing, psycho is a generic legendary type. And a steel lion doesn't really make a lot of sense imo, it's gonna be like metagross competitively, nah hate it.
The four island region isn't a huge surprise though, as I see it, after all its based on Hawaii, and the one island we got to see was fairly small to pass for a whole region.
Wondering if the Rotom pokedex is actually gonna be usable in battle and what secondary type it would have then, steel too?
Oh I'm all for changing types to suit your needs better in battle, just that the concept of a Sun Pokemon being weak to Fire at any stage is kinda unimaginable. Well, I'm expecting its typing to tie to the story in one way or another so, we shall wait and see
