Not too high. Kinda lost my interest half-way again. I'm mostly motivated only to retrieve my lost legendaries.

I gave it a shot. It's okay. I'm not really into MOBAs but this one has been quite easy to get into, and I've even succeeded pretty well. Especially for only playing with randos.

I mostly play Pikachu and occasionally Slowbro. I have coins for a new Pokemon, but haven't made my mind yet which to get. Most likely a supporter or Overall.

The whole micro-transaction mobile game UI is a big miss for me, but I'm getting used to it.

- Mamoswine and Sylveon coming to Pokemon Unite. Pre-registering to the mobile version gets you a cool Pikachu skin.
- Pokemon Cafe get totally revamped. Looks cute.
- Galar comes to PoGo. And hoopa apparently. Cool, cool.
- More look in DP remakes. Imho they look cheap. Even the character concept art looks bulk app store design. Also that trailer was horribly, horribly edited.
- New trailer and more insight into Legends: Arceus. Still looking interesting imho! The graphics are a bit rough tough. I wonder why they couldn't do it more similar to the style they had at the end of the trailer? They seem also heavily draw inspiration from BotW and Monster Hunter. I still like the ancient Japan concept a lot though, and the new forms/evos look great. Especially Wyrdeer was majestic.

New footage with new Pokemon, style options and warden characters. Looks like an actual first Pokemon RPG now. Release date 28th January 2022.


Graphics still kinda look clunky to me comparing to other 3D Nintendo exclusives as Botw, Odyssee.

Actually according to several Youtubers and Bulbapedia it is already confirmed somehow that it is regional evolution of Scyther, kinda like Wyrdeer and Basqufish.

Only in-game reason I can think of would be because they were dark-type, and those were feared and hatred until recently.

I was almost tempted to pre-order BDSP for the Jirachi gift, but fuck it - held strong and will try to keep it that way, as I still think the game looks terribe, brings very little to almost non extra value as a remake and just looks more like a money grab.

So, trying to vote with my wallet and pass for now.

Anyone got else got it yet and cares to share experience so far?

It doesn’t look terrible at all. The chibi look is perfect and cute for what it is. I really don’t get what people expect here? Does it look better than ORAS? Yes. Does it look way better than DP? Of course.
Is it a great game for people who never played DP before or really want to play it again on a current system? Totally.
Also it gladly isn’t a mere 1:1 copy. Though it probably would’ve been harder to revert fairy types to their pre gen 6 state.

Gamefreak didn’t develop it anyway so they could focus on something they never did before. A completely new game based on gen 4. which to me looks quite interesting so far.

I don’t judge anyone who calls this a money grab as almost every single remaster or remake is exactly that.
What really irks me though is that so many people act as if visuals were a key selling point for Pokémon games. It never was and never will be a Final Fantasy or even Zelda.
And I am okay with that. The sheer thought of modeling over 900 Pokémon with different forms or mega evolutions to PS5 visuals makes me believe there wouldn’t be any Pokémon game till 2035.

I can only speak for myself here, but ever since ORAS was release on 3DS remaking a GBA game the expectations for followup remakes were set to a certain visual improvement with translation to the new and more capable system. The re-remake of Gen1 seemed to have confirmed it and I gladly bought Let's Go Pikachu to officially play the Kanto games anew after FRLG on the powerful Switch.

Accordingly was majorly disappointed by the chibi art style and the visual direction this remake took - when the original games on the DS were already pretty much chibi art. The leap forward visually from Emerald / FRLG on GBA to DP on NDS was quite huge and remarkable. Unfortunately coming from SWSH / Let's Go on the same system seems like a major downgrade in the progression of things for me.

Had it come out before Let's Go this wouldn't have been an issue. Though, unfortunately, as long as it took to bring these remakes out (perhaps because of Arceus game / storyline), it just won't ever be what I expected on a full priced main console game on the Switch.

I've been greatly enjoying my go at Legends Arceus!

This is definetly a sign of the franchise going towards the right direction. Exploring and catching Pokemon has been much fun and I can't belief how smooth battling is! The action elements really some much needed spice to Pokemon.

Not a perfect game though. I wish Game Freak finally hired someone who can actually do good textures. The graphics are indeed dated. However, I wouldn't say they are completely horrible. Some views have been quite beautiful actually. However, I am willing to take this level, if that is what it takes for the game to run as smoothly as it does. And Pokemon and their animations are actually pretty great.

Music and sound has been amazing all thorough.

Story is this far... a little meh. I don't like the isekai angle. But I'm not expecting much in this regard from Pokemon games anyways. A few characters are pretty good, I especially like the new Professor. It's also fun to see ancestors of old characters here and there.

But overall, I've really enjoyd hunting Pokemon thorough the harsh wilds of Hisui. The gameplay loop is fun.

I'm am totally ready for Legends Lugia, Legends Rayqyaza or Legends Lunaala in the future!
