The collector cards were the real craze here in Sweden, some even got a shitload of cards without knowing there were video games.
Maaaaaaaan, how much money parents had to spend on their children's stupid cards. I had folders and stuff in my closet, like a damn archive with thousands of cards... and yet I don't recall anyone ever playing the actual card game. I know I wanted to after I played the Pokémon Trading Card Game for the Game Boy Color, but no one else knew how to play so I just kept collecting rare shit instead.

Eventually I got bored of it, put all the cards in a bag and dug a hole in a field close to where I used to live and put it all in there. Then I drew a treasure map of where they were and put outside the door of a guy I knew who couldn't afford any cards on his own.

I'm such a nice guy.

I had a few trading cards like in '99-01, among those were a Red Gyarados and Shiny Machamp cards. I lost my whole pack one day I don't even know how.

I bought cards out the ass when I was a kid. Played the game some but as card games go, it sucked. Yu-Gi-Oh! was more fun to play, but Pokemon cards were the shizz to collect!

I just collected them, I was never interested in learning to play them, but yeah everyone I knew who were into trading cards said that Yu-Gi-Oh was the one they liked.

O man the card game, lol. Honestly, I used to collect the cards but I had absolutely no idea how to play the game . I just loved staring at them and seeing how awesome and shiny my Charizard was. I guess it was a combination of me just being little and also not having anyone to play with or teach me how to play. But I still got them anyway for the thrill and excitement of staring at them in a binder .

Yep, most of you guys have been saying the exact same thing as me. Pokemon cards came first when I was much younger and those were more of just a phase and a craze resulting in me just staring at a bunch of holographic cards just because I thought they were amazing to have. I had no idea how to play at all. I think I even made up my own rule one time just so I could do something with them . And yes, Yugioh became the big sh*t and thats what I was all about. In the end I loved them way more than Pokemon Cards because they were better and I knew had to use them .

I've never even seen a Yu-Gi-Oh card, and if it's true that they were more popular, it was probably because the kids learned how to play them when watching the show.

Hell, no one I knew bought the Pokémon cards for the sake of playing. Everyone just threw their Energy and Trainer cards away or put them in the back of their folders and saved whatever rare or shiny ones they got their hands on.

I don't even think most kids cared back in the day, they'd just buy anything that said "Pokémon" on it, really.

No, I said I knew how to play D: It just wasn't that fun. The energy/counter thing Pokemon and other card games like it have going on is annoying. So many things to keep up with. That's why games like Yu-Gi-Oh! caught on better here, easier to play.

A very long time ago, I condensed my collection down to only sexy shiny cards. When I first started getting into the pokemon card craze, I use to collect all kinds of pokemon cards (including the energy cards, tools, shit.. even the japanese ones, etc) but I slowly grew to love the shiny pokemon cards more than any other.

I still have "my special" pokemon folder that contains practically all of the cards I kept. I managed to sell the rest of the rubbish cards at school. Gawd, I don't know how much money and time I spent on collecting and hustling for those cards; but I still say it was damn worth it. I had a lot of fun back in the day.

Oh yea and I totally agree with what Orgz-kun stated in his post a while back. So true. That was so sweet of you, Orgz-kun.

Here's an updated version of the Black and White pokedex so far. It includes screens of some new unnamed pokemon. Also these images give us a heads up on the new 3vs3 pokemon battles! I was totally not expecting us to ever get 3 on 3 but I am quite excited and interested about it. I hope that it doesn't end up just being an overkill version of a standard 2v2 and will be something promising and fun to do. . WOW, the pokemon move now even when standing still and not attacking! Thats amazing! Also WTH, did Zoroark just use transform or something??? He was a Suicune and then just transformed into its normal self??? Lol. Also I was quite confused with that whole thing with capturing Zorua in the building? First he was a person, then celebi shows up, then he's a pokemon, then capture . Anywho thanks a lot for the video Riki! Plus the giant Pikachu really made the video as well .

Well the latest CoroCoro news rush has finally started. I was waiting on this cause those sprites did the pokémon no justice.

N looks awesome and quite FABULOUS I must say. I always thought he was that same Boss man with the scouter and now I'm convinced. Seems like the rival is the main villain this time.

The official art for all these guys looks great. That eagle looks badass and Munna's line is probably the most interesting so far. Dream Smoke?! Stay tuned for more...

Pokemon: Black & White will have video chat (if you have DSi or 3DS). It will also have these features:

In addition, Black & White also feature their own Tag Mode, akin to Dragon Quest IX and the Nintendo 3DS itself. Named “Pass by Mode”, this one uses the C-Gear item mentioned in a previous reveal. CoroCoro says that the Tag Mode will aid your quest in some manner, but doesn’t specify how.



But the tweaks to the game don’t stop there. Additionally, the magazine also mentions that three-on-three battles factor in the placement of your Pokémon (at the front or rear) to calculate the effect of attacks that target multiple opponents.



And finally, Black & White also feature exclusive areas. Depending on which version you buy, you’ll either have access to White Forest or Black City.

They didn't reveal the official artwork for the moles, that jewel monster, tarantula etc. That stuff will probably come next month, and I bet we'll get more new leaks before then. Now my thoughts...

- The rate at which these are being revealed must mean the regional dex is huge. Its RSE (well, more like RBY) all over again, except they fixed the transfer problem.

- The fact that we are starting from Route 1 confirms Isshu is based on a country outside Japan.

- This game seems to be following the manga plot where your rivals start out with you. N is like Lance in the manga too (well a less extremist version).

- I hope Rankurusu is in Black version cause that goth girl hasn't grown on me.*

- Black City and White Forest are likely where you catch Reshiram and Zekrom, cause they didn't switch them. Like you catch the white Reshiram in Black City and vice-versa.

- So obvious that Kibago is the pseudo-legend this gen. Bet it evolves into axe-face that we saw earlier with Dragon/Rock typing. But I feel there'll be more than one pseudo-legend, like in RSE.

- Dream Smoke is awesome. Musharna is adorable and also love the pink flowery mess that is Munna.

EDIT: Late edit cause the official BW website and Daisuki Club both updated today with clear profiles for newly revealed pokémon and trainers. They also cover the Global Link process.

P.S. *Crap, goth girl is in Black and cute green blob is in White. Oh well they both have bad stats (although blobby has an awesome ability) and I doubt they'll evolve so I guess its no big deal.

GameFreak is bombarding us with these pink pokémon lol. It seems we finally got our first "old" pokémon. That is, an evo of one. Check the usual websites listed already. Hard to imagine that thing being anything other than a Luvdisc evo. I hope this is a sign of things to come cause a lot of cooler Hoenn pokémon need evos (Seviper, Zangoose, Sableye, Mawile etc).

Now speculating, I think Mamanbou is probably going to be Water/Flying, going by those wing-like fins. I hope it gets a big stat boost cause as we know, Luvdisc is absolute garbage. A good way to do that would be making it a counterpart to Gyarados and Milotic, who both have high stats and evolve from useless fish.

P.S. Pokémon Sunday is going to reveal a new legend this week. It'll probably be that little guy that was in the movie 14 trailer.

Well, there ya go. Pokémon Sunday revealed the phantom legend and it is indeed "V" from the movie 14 trailer. Its name is Bikutini and has the mysterious dex number of #000! Go to the official site. My prediction is Fighting/Flying type.
