Watt.

Some interesting typings there, the Grass starter gets ghost?! And for some reason I was pretty sure the guardians have the same main typs as the dancing birds. Grass and Water are surprises. Gamefreak, oh you!

Red looks dope, and still the silent guy... and Blue's badass rival music is back, that's awesome.

Dragon/Fighting? Damn that sounds dope. I always pick the Fire starter too, usually the first gym leader's weakness is fire

No, not really. Usually fire starter is the harder in the beginning, where the other two have a bit of an edge.

Kanto: Rock - resistance
Johto: Flying - neutral
Hoenn: Rock - resistance
Sinnoh: Rock - resistance
Unova: opposite Type - resistance
Kalos: Bug - weakness

4 of 6 was rock so far.

Lol I thought about that after I commented, I would say fire is more prevalent after the first gym leader.

I am the same, I stopped playing competitively since Gen 5 before the Mega Evos.

You only play on console? I thought you were playing on Pokemon Showdown TBH.

I do showdown from time to time as well although mostly OU or Random although only with friends but recently on a losing streak.

Unfortunately I can't buy S/M (xD) either as I don't have a 3DS however I have been looking to purchase it.

So I've spent around 33 hours with Pokemon Sun so far and I've just made it to Poni island but I thought I may as well talk a bit about my experience with it thus far.

I've actually found myself enjoying the game a fair bit, more so than I have enjoyed any Pokemon game that's come out since HGSS. I'm not a huge fan of the trials, but they can be interesting at times. Apart from the trials, I've really enjoyed the story so far and it's twists and turns. I don't think I'm that close to completing the main story yet but so far it has been a real blast. I'll also give you guys an image of my current team as I type this, I've basically just used whatever I've found and this team has some nice synergy to it even if it's bane is it's inability to deal with fairy types easily.

Of course they are, they're named after cool people I know on discord (hence why you don't have one named after you :P)
But yeah, I've always liked nicknaming my pokemon, it's given them a bit more meaning when I do thinks like a nuzlocke.

And here I'm living in Europe without Sun and Moon being released yet, wasting my time by watching shiny hunt livestreams on YouTube.

Finished the game the other day. I was genuinely surprised about how different the game is compared to the previous. Really nice twist in the plot, and I praised the Sun! love Solgaleo's design.
Granted, some of the trials were silliness, but still enjoyable to do. Totem Pokemon is a neat concept that creates challenges (which I've struggled against Totem Lurantis, including the SOS summon).

The game would surely surprise people (or anger, whichever the two). I've bought Sun, but there's a very high probability that I'll get Moon as well.

Yeah, the game's story line is definitely meatier and more nuanced if you compare it to the previous generations, and it's a change that I truly appreciate. The trials are fun l for me though, no matter how goofy and sometimes awkward they are if you're not expecting something.. 'serious' out of Pokemon games. I needed some time before I felt fully comfortable with the 3D model - I swear my eyes were straining during the first couple of hours of the playthrough. I also love how they ditch HMs, which is the most important change in game mechanics for me since HMs are just terrible and constraining. I finished it in 25 hours- ish, which is the longest time I needed to finish a Pokemon game, I think. Oh, it's also worth mentioning that post-main story line contents are definitely much better than prev gens too, really glad the developers listened to the complain.

If there's anything that I'd like to whinge about is how the 'tutorial' part of the game is pretty tedious and unnecessarily long.. even for Pokemon beginners, I don't think you need that much of an explanation during the early game.

By the way my team when I finished the game (1st Hall of Fame) were: Decidueye, Inceneroar, Primarina, Lycanroc (Sun version), Metagross, and Garchomp. IME, the most versatile Pokemons in my team are Primarina (you can teach it energy ball, for example) and Lycanroc, at least in PvE context. I was using Mudsdale and Kommo-O to at some point, and I believe they're pretty powerful too.
