Surprised that they made another monkey starter. Makes me wonder if Grookey will get the Fighting type.

For once I don't prefer a design much more than the others.

Lot of train tracks. I suspect we are gonna travel by train a lot, which will create detours, instead of a monotonous South to North trek.

The tracks could tie this region to Kalos also. It was based on France. Afterall there isthen canal tunnel, and that mysterious train station in Kalos. Maybe the great war of XY was between Galar and Kalos.

It looks like Westerns, even The Wall XD

Well, Westeros is loosely based on the British Isles. So no wonder the similarities.

I love all the speculation that stirs with a new Gen.

Apperently I wasn't alone with my football-bunny vibes, and the speculation is that the starters will channel football, water polo and cricket. Explains the stick with the monkey.

Also week before the announcement in a 4chan leak that was mostly ignored, someone got right the Direct date, the game names and the setting. However, it had one more thing in it, which wasn't in the announcement - PokeArmor mechanic. Which apparently works similar to megastones, and is available only for set monsters, which of now are Mewtwo, Charizard, Flygon and Zeraora.

Rumours say that story-wise the armor is linked into Meltan and it's status as a legendary in Galar .

Another rumour is about the legendaries. They are supposed to be a metal snake and wood horse. The horse in particular make sense, as we see in the trailer the mysterious signs on a side of a hill. This very much seems like a reference to Uffington White Horse.

Get hype.

It'd be better if a Mega Evolution-like mechanic didn't use the same pokemon like Mewtwo and Charizard though...

^Couldn't agree more. Especially Mewtwo and Charizard, who as the only ones have two different megas. Can't get my head around why the same five mons get all the new cool things all the time smh



I heard a theory on reddit or youtube, that was going into that armored form. The hypothesis was that those forms were developed for the Kalos-Galar war, in reference to the French-British wars, to counter the mega evolutions from Kalos. As in mega=sword and armor=shield. Or post-war, which pressumably was lost by Galar due to Az's use of the ultimative weapon.

Dynamax does indeed seem kind of lazy. While I think it looks better than any previous Pokemon game, it's still pretty pathetic compared to other Switch games.

Yeah I'm just playing Breath of the Wild and I can't get my head around how game freak says they had to cut the pokedex in order to have an overall good quality. Can't be the cartridge limitations for sure.

I think they also really took to heart the popularity of Team Skull, when design in this new group. Maybe but too similar in tone.

I love that the region forms weren't a one can gimmick. I love both the new Koffing and Zigzagoon lines.

What I'd like to see someday is a beyond region evil team again. Haven't had any since rocket, and personally I think it's a missed opportunity to further establish or develope Team Skull, as they sort of had to share the regional evil team title with Lusamine squad.
