I don't know, Community lost me a few seasons ago, the team behind the show was kind of replaced or something, then a bunch of other drama, people leaving the show. I'm skeptical.

Well Dan Harmon was replaced as showrunner for season 4, which made the show lose some fans and the creative direction behind that season wasn't the best. They really did a number on that show. Now he's back and I'm happy and can't wait to see the new episodes.

So, I saw the pilot of Helix (the first two episodes in fact). It's tense, the atmosphere is heavy, it's a thriller. The serie got potential but I'm not convinced by all the characters. The asian, the blond doctor & the soldier are the good ones for me but I have more trouble with the real main characters. The main character is dull, smart but boring. He is your typical boy scout who is almost a perfect human being ... thus boring. And of course, the two female leads are hot for him which is pretty much the case with all male leads in tv series nowadays. Here we got a 26 years old hottie in love with someone old enough to be her dad. The actress playing the 26 years old genius isn't very convincing. At no point, you got the feeling that you are in presence of a genius.

I'll wait to see it before I can give my point of view, but watching the 15mins preview I can agree on some of the character descriptions you've given. Especially that of the male lead. I instantly knew I'd like Hiroyuki Sanada, as he's quite outstanding in many of his previous roles; where his roles require certain mystery or a veil of deceipt to the character.

I finished season 1 of Orphan Black a few days ago, through Musashi's recommendations. It was a series that thouroughly deservers any hype and accolades it receives. Very well written, and acted out, though by far the most impressive thing is Tatiana Maslany's acting chops. Her ability to play her roles and switch between these characters, sometimes in a single scene is quite fascinating. The rest of the cast are good and provide support but she really has shone from this.

I'm always nearing the end of Hannibal( on the last episode actually); bloody hell and no pun intended on that. What a show, it just gets more and more daring as the story unfolds, more gruesome and murders more intricate. It's been a while since I'd seen such a cleverly written show with the sort of ensemble cast it has. Mads Mikkelsen is just awesome; slowly coming to the forefront of the stories and episodes( literally, as the first few episodes hardly focus on him); it's fascinating focusing on him while he's in the background, to see how quirky he plays his character and how he deceives and masks his emotions.

These are 2 shows I'll very much look forward to for their second seasons.

I continue with the pilots. Now I tried intelligence. It s boring to death. I didn t even finish the pilot. Take chuck, remove fun and try to make it a serious show. Just horrible

Glad you liked Hannibal, there are not many series out there in general that are this appealing stylistically. Adding great performances to that, you got a winner for this year, though unfortunately, the ratings were not that good.
Mikkelsen´s Lecter is fundamentally different than the one Hopkins portrayed, he seems calmer, less menacing maybe but more scheming and equally frightening.
If you liked Mikkelsen and don´t mind subbed movies, i recommend "A Royal Affair" and "The Hunt", in both of which he showed outstanding performances.

True Detective

Seems like we have the first winner of 2014, what a show, though you should stay away from it if you can´t deal with a slow pace

Supernatural resumed it's season, and it seems like we are off to a brilliant start yet again, this episode was just as good as the last one, even though I thought the Sam plot would not be resolved so quickly and it kind of was not ...

The plot is at least interesting because you only know there is something strange going on but you don't know what exactly.

The characters themselves aren't indeed convincing at the moment. Hiroyuki Sanada plays his role very good and he might be the exception (together with that wicked, sick brother). As a viewer you know that he is part of this infection (?) but like the reseachers you're unaware of his means. Do not forget that the researchers, unlike us, are unaware of more. My hopes are high that as soon as the mysteries are revealed, the researchers will have a character development.

Anyone: might extraterrestial lifeforms be involved in this story?

I've still not seen the last episode of Sherlock yet. When I get to it, I'll comment on it in its thread. Though I somewhat agree with your opinion.

Yes, I saw the first episode of True Detective; forgot to mention it here. Really enjoyed; I tried to stay grounded going into it and not get carried away, as I'd heard a lot of great things about it online and that's already being brought here in UK because of it.

The episode itself had me questioning why Cohle(Matthew McConaughey) and Hart( Woody Harrelson) were being interviewed; my thoughts went from the episode crime investigation, or possibly something that happened between the 2 of them that caused a rift. That last scene though with Cohle; so brilliant . If first episodes are ever anything to go by, this show will be excellent and surely win both actors some awards.

I think it has been insinuated that the cops are trying to pick up some of Cohle's brain - in the sense that they are curious about how he solved the case. Explicitly though, it is being told that the files concerning the case was missing during hurricane; but I forget the time stamp within episode 1 where the cops said so. Matthew McConaughey has been doing good, judging from his acting in this series as well as Dallas Buyers Club.

I agree, and I just finished watching the 2nd episode, it is still going strong, in my opinion. One could say that this series reminds her of The Killing, but the narrative and dialogues of True Detective felt stronger for me personally. Still crossing my fingers so the conclusion is not going to be a disappointment.
