I think it's because of the actor they chose for the main role--who looks like a bad actor, and is terribly awkward looking. Plus, I keep picturing Keanu Reeves.

Now that all new series are finishing their first (or second) season, just a thought on some new tv series:
- Agents of SHIELD: Given the fact that they had to deal with the events of Captain America 2, I think they did pretty well in the end. Among the 5-6 first episodes, there were some garbage and it was average at best but since then, it became better. And as soon as the events of captain america 2 were in place, the show was real good. It's an unexpected success in the end.
- The blacklist: If you can buy the premise, it's the newcomer of the year by a large margin. Sure, it's hard to swallow a FBI top 10 criminal who basically do whatever he want. But beyond that, it's nervous, there is suspense, scenario is good and there is James Spader.
- The arrow: The beginning of the season was terrible. Sarah isn't the best character of the set but the second half with deathtroke was satisfying. It's still a B serie with lots of incoherences but it's entertaining. The "Flash" spinoff seems interesting enough. It looks like a "nerdy" version of Arrow.
- Elementary: They managed to keep the quality after Moriarty and that's something even BBC couldn't do. The reason is the addition to Mycroft to the cast and the evolution of Sherlock and Watson characters.
- Black Sails: Atrocious characters. Hard to believe in anything displayed on screen, move on
- Intelligence: Chuck without the fun, move on.
- Helix: Wasted potential due to terrible lead actors.
- True Detective: Slow, very slow but very good in the end. Great actors, great characters, good setup. Nice Bonus: the best naked body of the year in a TV serie for Alexandra Daddario :).

Trailers for new NBC shows:






A to Z, Marry Me and State of Affairs look interesting, though i don´t like Katherine Heigl. It probably is not a coincidence that NBC chose 2 romance shows for the fall season, now that HIMYM is over.

I also heard they're not picking up the How I Met your Dad series; and not it's being offered up to other networks, I believe.

Yeah, apparently they pulled the plug or rather CBS passed on it, the show (or rather the idea) is owned by 20th Century Fox though, so the possibility of seeling it elsewhere (or even airing it on Fox since it belongs to 20th) is still there but seems unlikely. The feedback for the idea was really bad.

Marry Me is the only one that halfway interests me. But I feel like I'll just end up missing Happy Endings and avoid it.

The rest was a shitload of eye-rolling from me.

does anyone know any shows that are similar to breaking bad, walking dead, and sons of anarchy? Something that is on par with them?

Well, I'm pretty hyped about The Leftovers. Looks like it'll take GoT's timeslot after the season finale.

Season one was. Season two, not so much. Surprise effect is gone for me

I watched the first 2 episodes of "Salem," and I have to say that I was quite disappointed. It just felt extremely slow, and too preachy. Plus, the whole demon/witch/exorcism garbage was tedious and vexing--which was constant in every scene.

The diversity in these shows are ridiculous. No wonder they don't last and this list of shows looks typical as usual.

When I was a teenager, I really liked Roswell. Katherine Heigl, Majandra Delfino, Emilie De Ravin and Shiri Appleby, I had a crush on all of them (well mainly Shiri Appleby). Seeing Katherine Heigl now, I feel really old.

I tried to watch the 100.

I love the basic idea. I really do. Some kind of battle royal potential + sci-fi. Aside from that, everything else is bad.
Characters are bad, exceptionally bad. So many clichés: the apparent bad boy, the stupid girl, the serious girl with a crush on the bad boy, the big protective and criminal brother, the kind asian geek good with math, ... One question went through my mind immediatly: Are teenagers that dumb nowadays ? Are we supposed to care about those characters ?
Characters are straight from a low cost 80s teen drama. It's that bad.
The only "good" part of the serie is on the station, at least there are some people who can act there.

And lets not talk about the logic in the tv serie.

PENNY DREADFUL is a wicked new series. I'm really not have of the demon bs, but this show pleasantly surprised me. Recommend it.
