Sherlock returns on UK television 1st January. I really can't wait. The following 2 episodes will air on 5th and 12th Jan.

Also, The Mentalist recently concluded its Red John storyline. After years of hunting down the killer of his family, Jane finally found him. The ending of the episode was sort of bittersweet but I look forward to the new direction the show will take. There is a 2 year time-skip after the "Red John" episode, so I wonder what all the main characters have been doing all this time.
Would you elaborate on that please since i found it more satisfying that bittersweet.

Regarding the Mentalist
The dude was too underwhelming, and honestly, I don't for a second doubt that Red John will return later, if anything then in the finale of next season.
Both the dude and the episode in itself were really underwhelming, to say the least.
Someone i know actually articulated well enough, so i just gonna quote him:

Ugh, where to start? I didn't like how a freaking pigeon got the better of a notorious masterminded serial killer, for one thing. Yeah, I know the writers kind of foreshadowed the ornithophobia in the wedding episode when McAllister saved Jane and became spooked when a flock of birds flew by, but it was still sloppy writing. Where did Jane get the bird? Did he already have it on his person? And if so, how the hell did the Blake Association lackey miss a goddamn bird during a pat-down after finding a gun in Jane's back-pocket?

The random lady showing up at the church with a knife was beyond silly. Jane really didn't see that coming? Most of the episode was spent on boring car and foot chases (an old man with a gunshot wound outruns a physically fit, middle-aged man pumped with adrenaline?), while that FBI dude couldn't be any more incompetent if he tried (and he's supposed to become a main character, too).

Bertram's death was not only anticlimactic, but the way in which he collapsed was almost comedic in its execution. As for Red John, I completely disagree with how the writers portrayed his ending. When you have a character created to be one of the smartest and most sadistic mass murders in the history of television, you don't freaking humanize him! That was the exact mistake made by the Dexter writers, who thought fans wanted to see Dexter Morgan with emotions. Well, fans didn't; season eight was universally panned.

The Dexter fans felt as if it was the biggest slap in the face to the character in literally making him impotent to killing after falling in love. The ending to Red John's reign of terror was just as bad, if not worse, imo. Pleading for Jane to spare his life? Calling 911 for help after falling over due to blood loss? It was pathetic. This was the same guy that Heller and the other Mentalist writers kept "demonstrating" (off-screen) was a brilliant and ruthless butcher without a single regard for human life.

How did McAllister find out about the list? "Well, derpy-derp, I have real psychic powers, dont'cha know!" Seriously? Did they actually put that in the script or was it extemporized? The explanation about the bombs was legitimate, and Jane actually killing Red John was performed phenomenally, but the rest was just... meh. What about the Red Barn? We were led to believe that Red John had a major connection to the Visualize organization, yet none of that was even mentioned. In the end, they reduced him to a generic James Bond complete with the full exposition, although conveniently short of some of the more questionable feats.

I wanted to see Red John in action; why he was so cunning, what made him able to brainwash so many people into helping him, what his backstory was like, and so on. I was actually surprised they didn't devote an entire episode to the character, and how "Red John" came about. The writers missed the mark entirely, in that regard.

Btw, it is practically confirmed that RJ won´t return unless maybe in a flashback. The storyline of RJ is over.

The problem with characters like that is, for such a long time the villain has done such incredible things that we've come to view him as someone that was more than human. So seeing him in the flesh without the enigma, sort of kills the sensation of the character. For me, I think this is it; he's dead, it's done. Though after the Blake Association was revealed and the tattoos came into play, I began questioning whether Red John was one person or an identity that several men within the organisation had taken up. If he does come back in the season finale or whatever, I imagine that this is how it would come into play.
While that certainly holds some truth, it still does not explain how such a dumb and coward person has done so many unbelievable things.

Because I loved how Jane took action against RJ to get his revenge but very disappointed at how underwhelming his character and reveal was. Maybe bittersweet was not the best word to use, but it seems the chase was where all the fun and excitement were to be had. It was always going to end up this way but I would've liked to see more of RJ in action and for his one on one interaction with Patrick to be longer and more indepth

Ok that´s what you meant, i thought it was bittersweet for Jane but it was quite satisfying, especially the scene where he specially asks RJ and gets the answers he wants before strangling him.

Generally, there was so much potential regarding the character RJ but they kind of screwed it up.
Well, i guess the thing that is supposed to run the show now is the relationship between Jane and Lisbon since a possible love was hinted at several times but the quest for revenge was always the thing that kept Jane back. Now that he is supposed to be happier and more balanced, i think that could be a thing.

Dale was bad ass all the way lol The governor is still alive in my opinion. unfortunaly, i'm upset that they didn't keep the governor with long hair--which is like the comic. I think it's hilarious how tons of zombies were on the fence everyday up until now, and now when the governor is parked outside there isn't a single zombie lol

yes, I meant Darryl. I think she hesitated and intentionally missed.

I don't know what that's based on...and in any case, he was run through with with a samurai sword in a field swarmed with zombies. He's dead.

They changed a lot of stuff comparing it to the comics, but still it was pretty similar (the gov killing someone with a sword didn't surprise me because of that, same with Judith's "death"-I haven't read enough in the comics, I stopped after this fight to avoid getting heavily spoiled, but just like here we don't see her actually death nor anything like that-).

The protagonists actually "winning" the fight (a lot of them survived) is a huge change, considering that in the comics

it was a massive murder, and less than 10 people escaped, and the gov's people took control of the jail.

Rick didn't have a fist fight, Michonne didn't stab the governor there either, he didn't get shot (his death was more brutal, and actually meaningful, here Lily jsut shot him out of nowhere), THE FREAKING KIDS WEREN'T THERE SHOOTING BAD GUYS (that was cool), Carl going cray, obviously Darryl wasn't around kicking ass, etc.

Most of these were all good changes, in order to make it more epic I guess, so I'm ok with the last chapter, it was definetly good.

The episode before this kinda bothered me though. Martínez letting the governor joining them was so... dumb, even for a TV show. Not only that, he spent time alone with him (enough to get him killed). The fight was super forced, the way Michonne (MICHONNE) got captured was too stupid. There was a lot more crap like that, that I can't remember right now. I mean, I appreciate some changes here and there, but make it at least believable.

There was no need to kill Hershell btw, it could had been someone else.

I really liked the ending scene (Rick and Carl escaping in the woods, with the jail in a crappy state in the background), it was exactly like in the comics.

Great mid season ending, I kinda know what happens "in the next chapter" (that's as far as I read in the comics) so I'm not dying to get a new chapter. But I'm really hoping to see the second part of this season.

For everyone who said that this was the weakest season... suck it, seriously.

Also, the zombies' strength is too inconsistent. In the first episode this season, one of them tackled the fodder guy and he got raped in 3 seconds. The episode after that, the zombies were strong enough to give trouble to Michonne. In these last episodes, the zombies hug and then 20 seconds later they bite (Lily's daughter and those guys that checked the woods with the governor are a clear example).

The zombie delay is just to build dramatics dude. No one cares if an unknown gets mauled, so how quickly it's done doesn't really matter. It's just for dramatic effect.

It is plot.. or at least that's how I see it. The zombies and their destructive power is like... the main thing in this series, lol.

I'm talking about the zombie that appeared in the camp, that the gov killed. It was strong enough to hold the girl, but not enough to drag her, adn eh didn't even move when Lily's sis grabbed it... it made no sense. Same with the zombie that was found in the cabin in the woods, as I said before.

The underground zombie was dumb too now that you mention it.

I think you're being nitpicky, it's Television, thus a lot of the visual effects are obviously fake. Any other kind of inconsistency, I don't know. It doesn't prevent me from enjoying the show.

The zombies are different, they're not all identical with the same strength, just like humans.

So why was the tank shooting at the prison? Even if Mitch was portrayed as a violent dimwit, his military background should have made him able to stay focused in battle and not destroy the one thing they came for. I was waiting for the Gov to yell "The people, not the building, you idiot!" all the time.

And Rick is quite the action-hero... first he only manages to shoot the Govs shoulder from just 2-3 yards away and then he loses in a fistfight against that exact same guy with the injured shoulder(and only one eye). The writers should give some love to their main-character... his teenage-kid has more badass-moments than him.

Well, he was shooting with his left hand and fighting with a really injured right hand.

I agree about the tank thingy though :p
