Colin Farrell would be ok, definitely someone who could at least keep up with the performances of season 1 but someone like Kitsch....

Legends with Sean Bean is the surprise of the summer. A very good tv show based on the pilot. A undercover secret agent who has trouble to maintain his identity and to identify the border between reality and fiction. It's a good setup and Sean Bean is good enough to make us believe in the story. Casting is completed by the still delicious Ali Larter.

But still, it's weird to see Sean Bean in a main role, you are just expecting him to die at every corner .

I'm not going to argue against someone who would describe The Leftovers as tedious, however I will say that there's a lot of good things there. My only worry is that people who watch the show but have a lot of criticism are jumping the gun a bit. Given that Lindelof is involved, people are probably going to compare the first season to how LOST eventually turned out. I don't mean that in a negative way necessarily, but it's obviously going to be negative for the people with similar problems.

I think there was some payoff in the last few episodes, especially the last one. There's been a rather slow buildup, but there's obviously something going on behind the scenes and it'll probably come to a head in the last few episodes. The spiritual/supernatural element is pretty nuanced and not quite in your face. I'd compare it loosely to the Left Behind series. I only read the first book, but something like this is way more interesting to me. It isn't trying to be preachy and a lot of it is left up to interpretation. Aside from the religious imagery, we're not even sure whether October 14th was even The Rapture in the first place. The concept is a lot more realistic to me.

I haven't read the novel, but I found it interesting that it's a single book, so if it's extended (which it looks like it could be) for more seasons, how much material is left to actually adapt.

Well, it is really something that deserves the term "guilty pleasure" since it can be melodramatic at times but i liked and like the thing about self-reflection and finding yourself.

Well, i don´t wanna overestimate the thought that is going to making the show but basically, it is a deconstruction of the perfect American Life that many imagine to lead: Beautiful wife, well paid job, big house and so on. Something is amiss, seeing his wife screw another guy is basically the trigger of an already existing problem. Of course this does not really have to lead to the whole gigolo thing, so you are probably right (though i would not make a connection to 50 shades of grey). Btw, he becomes a gigolo because he meets the gigolo of the wife, so there is that^^.

Dropped The Strain after 3 episodes. The plot is promising but I didn't like the repulsiveness. It kind of felt sickening rather than enjoying.

I don't like the whole holocaust shadow of the series.

However, as far as mayhem goes, it's starting to kick-off--but overall. it's still a bit mediocre.

True Blood is finally over... I still can't believe that I've really pulled through those last 3 seasons... what a damn waste of time.

I've watched the first seasons of Penny Dreadful and The 100 over the last two weeks.
PD is really well done with tight atmosphere and great acting by Eva Green and Rory Kinnear("Your firstborn has returned, father!" ). I'm in for season 2!
The 100 luckily turned out to be more than just another CW-series with beautiful young people. It's nothing outstanding, but turns into a decent SciFi-show over the first season.

I m rewatching seinfeld fo the 20th time at least. My opinion will never change: best sitcom of all times and best tv character of all time with george costanza. I can t even explain just how much i love this show. Funny, ahead of its time, inventive, dialogues that simply put friends to shame. No lovey-dovey relationships to generate emotions. Seinfeld had no time to generate "cute" moments, it was too busy being hilarious. A solid 9.5 on a scale of 1 to 10. It just lose half a point for the weak first season

Funny, I was expecting the deduction to be coming from it's ending. A lot of people forget about the first season.
