Hey, Frosty. Remember when we discussed Federer playing smaller tournaments to rack up titles? Since his loss he's decided to play Gastaad and Hamburg, i have a couple ideas why he'd do this. The most obvious being that i think he feels he's lacking match practice and that the lighter schedule didn't do him any favors this year, but also because he's going to need ranking points to finish in the top 4 (at least) this year. He hasn't played at either of those events in years.

Well, he definitely is lacking match practice, but yeah, he needs ranking points. If both him and Nadal hadn't been knocked out, he would've faced Nadal in a QF, Murray in a SF, and Djokovic in the Final. Beating three of the big four is usually too much for one player in a single Major. Did Fed slip to 5 or 6?

He played Hamburg when it was a Masters Series.

After Djokovic fails to get a break, he easily dumped serve, and now we're level at a set a piece.

Djokovic doesn't get a break when up 0-40 at 6-5, but then beats Del Po fairly handily in the tiebreak. 2-1 Djokovic.

He slipped to 5, this match has been AMAZING btw lol. Some of Del Po's forehands omg...

Del Po's serve bothers me....for his height and obvious power he should be in the 130's i know he can go up to 135MPH...but Djoker is serving bigger than him in this match

Del Po's serve bothers me....for his height and obvious power he should be in the 130's i know he can go up to 135MPH...but Djoker is serving bigger than him in this match

Del Po looks like he's almost fully back finally. His forehand hasn't been this good since the surgery. In terms of the serve, I think it's still a wrist issue. He used to bomb 140s no problem, but now, he barely gets to 130. Most of his serves were 120-126.

Djoker outserved Berdych and Del Potro in consecutive rounds, truly amazing.

Yeah...this is the guy that had more doubles than Aces not too long ago. He's really hit his peak, hope the Murray match is even half as good.

After Nadal and Fed losing, this is the best final that could have been set up. Now the last thing I want to hear is that Novak will win it easily. It's Wimbledon and do not write Murray on his home court, something historic is bound to happen!

I said a few pages back that i think Murray is the superior grass courter.....

Hopefully its Murray and Lisicki at the champions dinner when it's all over 2 new wimbledon champions would be amazing.

I'm a Djokovic supporter, but I'm worried about this match. The crowd will be uber-partisan from the get go and that might get into Djokovic's head. The English crowd can be pretty classless at times, so...

Yeah, and Djoker really hates the crowd against him It's actually cost him momentum in big matches imo.

Yeah. It's part of why he lost the 2011 RG SF to Federer, and the SF and the bronze medal match at Wimbledon.

On the other hand, he beat Fed two years in a row with a pro-Fed crowd at the US Open.

As a player he should be used to hostile/biased (I don't think the crowds were hostile in his matches though). Nadal has been pretty candid about how he felt the french crowd never embraced or supported him, but it never stopped him from winning 8 haha.

Sad for Lisicki....welp Murray don't let me down.

I was at a friends house over the weekend and he was kind enough to let me watch finals. Happy for Murrays win, wanted a 5 setter though. Djoker had his chances, being up in the 2nd/3rd sets iirc.

I was sleeping when the match started, and woke up in the 3rd set, with Djoko's net point in the final game

I don't really like any of them, I wanted Fed/Robredo/Haas to win it. And none of them was a black horse that I'd cheer (the no 1 against the local... who is the no 2 ), so idgaf

Finally able to comment on the match, having spent the day watching it at a beer garden. I'm happy Murray won and on the day he was the better player and so deserved it. Djokovic was obviously affected by his semis match against Del Potro but like he said himself afterwards, he's been in similar situations. Murray just wanted it more I guess.

I was glad to see the english crowd cheering so loudly at Murray's points but I hate classessness and such one sided rooting, as I don't think many besides Djoko's own box was cheering for him. :/

Hopefully though, this will be first of a few more Wimbledon titles for Murray and maybe we'll see him challenging for the no.1 spot very soon. You can pretty much guess the sort of reception and attention his victory has gotten over here, but it's nothing until you actually experience it. There was no need to ask what people were doing yesterday because everyone was watching the match lol. The media coverage before, during and since the match has been close to absurd. There's already talks of knighthood~

Talks of knighthood are ridiculous, just like how it's ridiculous that Bradley Wiggins is now Sir Bradley Wiggins.
