Oh, yeah, interesting piece of news.

Murray hasn't beaten a top 10 player since he beat Djokovic in last year's Wimbledon Final.

Yeah Murray is 0-2 VS Nadal this year, 0-1 VS Fed, and 0-1 VS Novak as well iirc.

Novak was having mental struggles in slam finals. He needed this win haha.

Tsongas first win in like 4 years lmao. Was an odd match, probably saving energy for Cincinnati masters (he's never won it) and the USO

Yeah, and I think that win 13 matches ago was partly due to Djokovic wilting in the heat in Australia.

I was surprised to see Venus beat Serena, but it looked like there was something mental in Serena's way all day.

Venus beating serena shouldn't be a thing anymore. Quite a surprise indeed. Tsonga routines Dimitrov...he might take the title.

He went through Djokovic, Murray, Dimitrov and Federer...I'd say he definitely deserves this title. I saw good things from Federer...making a masters final right after the Wimbledon final. This is the best I've seen Tsonga play since about....last year loool.

Had Federer won this, he would have made the WTF qualification cut along with Djokovic and Nadal. will probably do so in Cincinnati.

Yeah, a great week for Tsonga all told. Although, truthfully, he does have top 4-5 talent, just not that level of consistency, so he should have a chance to beat the Big Four most days, even though we know that that's not the case. Djokovic had basically routined him 11 straight matches, for example.

I expected Tsonga to beat Fed, which seems strange to say, but it was how I viewed it. Tsonga had been serving well and a fast hard court really suits him. I think that if the US Open were played on a faster hard court, such as the one in Toronto, Jo could win it.

I expected Tsonga to win too. He played better opponents all week. Federer struggled VS Cilic and lost a set to Ferrer...which should never happen (he's 15-0 VS this guy). Cincinnatti and the USO will be very interesting...Jo lacks the consistency though. And although he beat Djokovic...i don't think the same will happen should they meet in NY.

Yeah, if you have a quality ground game like Fed usually does, you shouldn't be struggling against Cilic (although he has improved a lot) or Ferrer.

That's been Jo's problem. Since losing the 2008 Australian Open Final to Djokovic, he's never been able to show the same level of consistency in a GS.

Yeah. You'd expect that Djokovic will be back in form (and over the literal honeymoon period), so you'd expect a different result. Plus, it's over five sets and Djokovic no longer has stamina issues.

Djokovic is my pick to win everything this year lmao. I think he tanked Toronto (he HAS to show up, Federer can withdraw from certain events because of some rule regarding how long he's been on tour + his age). So he can win Cincinnati (the only masters he's missing i think?), another USO, and then defend all his fall titles. That wimbledon win was more important for him than for federer in terms of the rest of their careers. Djojovics just been missing something and losing slam finals he should be able to win. He said thats why he hired Becker.

Well, you can claim injury and skip events like Nadal's done in the past, but that's not considered good form.

Well, I've picked Djokovic to win everything this year, except for Roland Garros, where I thought that he'd fall just short and did. Bringing in Becker has definitely helped, as he got over the pain of losing the fourth set in Wimbledon after being up 5-3 and won the amatch.

I still think Djokovic, as you said, probably wins Cincinnati, the USO, and his fall Masters Series titles.

Murray's fallen off, Fed's not the same, Nadal's dealing with injury. Ferrer has finally begun to slow down, not that he was ever really a threat for Djokovic. Tsonga and now Dimitrov are pushing, but...Berdych has like one or two wins against Djokovic, and one of them came in a match Djokovic didn't want to play, the 2012 London Olympics Bronze Medal match.

I think it was Del Po who actually beat Djokovic there. Murray has indeed fallen off...Rafa is always injured he should call it quits. Fed is just old...who else is 33 but is playing this good? someone pointed out that Hingis and Fed are around the same age...but she stopped winning slams before he even started. I expect an Agassi like career for him as he gets even older.

Tsonga may either surge for this win...or slump. It's tough to say. Dimitrov is dangerous and will only get better though. He's improved a great deal this year.

Oh, indeed, you are right, it was Del Po.

Well, Rafa can always pick up a Roland Garros title, though, as Djokovic seems to be mentally incapable of winning that title.

I think that Fed should retire at the end of this year, before he starts losing left and right and getting embarrassed.

Agassi made it to USO Final in his 30s, but he didn't have as good of a career in his 30s as we like to remember.

I somehow feel like Tsonga will slump. Dimitrov is getting better, but he's not at the level to challenge for a Slam yet.

Nah i don't think fed should retire tbh. Minus the clay swing..which was interrupted by the birth of another set of kids, i think he's had a good year for a 33 year old lol. Semis at the Aussie, Wins Dubai,Finals of indian Wells, Quarters of Miami, Finals of Monte Carlo,skip to winning Halle and losing wimbledon in a tight five setter. I think a lot of players would kill for this year tbh lol.

Most "top" players never have a year as good as that, but at this point, if all he cares about is a Grand Slam title, he should just call it a day, as it's not going to happen, unless he faces a first time finalist somewhere, or his experienced opponent is way off their game that day. That Wimbledon Final was his first Final in two years, and the last one was at Wimbledon.
