Pre-Ordered the Wind Waker HD Wii U 32G bundle from Target! :x3 It's coming on the 20th of this month!

I will have absolutely no time to play it until this semester is over, but I HAVE TO HAVE IT. XD And I can vicariously live through my little sister playing it until winter break at least.
:emocat

I forgot to say that I received my bundle in the mail yesterday! =D I've opened it and set it up (need to figure out how to get the HDMI to work though), but haven't played the game at all yet. Haven't had time. :/

Turns out, the HDMI ports on my TV do not work. :cookiehand

Even so, I played about 30 minutes of Wind Waker a couple of days ago and... I mean, this game was gorgeous on the fucking Game Cube. It's kind of awe-striking on the Wii U. 20/30 of those minutes were me staring at how beautiful the setting of WindWaker is and only about 10 were actually playing the game.

I wish I had more time for this game! AGH.

I had an appointment elsewhere. D: I was already supposed to be spending those thirty minutes doing lab prep. I failed half of a lab quiz for those thirty minutes! :arf

WORTH IT.

Looks like the Zelda 3DS XL bundle will be coming to US. It will come out just in time for Black Friday

Oh, and Zelda producer Aonuma stated that Two Worlds take place in the Link to the Past timeline (between Link's Awakening and original Zelda.

I came to a conclusion. Monolith soft new game is all about "creating a large-scale open world that players can explore seamlessly". That as said by Aonuma will be the Zelda U goal too, and looking back at Monolith history you can see that they already helped in Skyward Sword, and now recently on ALBW.

So looking at the trailers of "X" we can have a prediction of things to come for next Zelda game, dont you think?

The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary is available for free on the 3DS/2Ds for a limited time so you better get it if you haven't gotten the game yet :amuse

Zelda+Mechs sounds like a match made in heaven, buuuuut it will never happen. Unless they make a Sci-Fi world in one of the different timelines.
The thought of fighting Ganon in a mechsuit may be silly, but I guess X may satisfy us; In that you can fight dinosaurs, and giant gorillas
Also Nintendo has said that X still aims for a 2014 release, and the WiiU Zelda may show up at E3 as a trailer, but thats just a speculation.

Just. No. More. Fi! :handgun

I am not sure if I like the idea of zelda + mechs... zelda with sci-fi? It sounds weird... I guess it is ultimately a matter of how it is executed though. On the other hand, how about zelda in a more final fantasy setting? Not something too technologically advanced but rather something like FFIX or FFXII where you have a mix of magic and technology. I can't imagine link in sci-fi though, it just would not make sense. Swords are really improbable weapons in sci-fi, link would get gunned down in a second. Of course, I am not suggesting using multiple characters (I don't want the game to actually be final fantasy). However in a setting where magic and technology are combined it would be viable to create new settings, puzzles and weapons. It would give the game makers freedom for new things to some extent. Zelda games that take place in the future tend to have more technology but it is still somewhat steampunk so to speak. Alternatively you run into technology that is so advanced that it seems like plain magic and that kinda beats the purpose of the whole thing. So we could get link with multiple swords, some magic or technology based, switching the bow for a gun or something that functions as gun and hookshot... Move on from bombs to grenades (that grow on trees lol). Hack computers with the doctor's screwdriver (why not?). The mastersword has to remain but it would be interesting to see it matched up against swords with a technology thing to them (chainsaw sword?). Maybe then move on to weapons that combine new technology with ancient magic (flaming chainsaw sword!). And it is about time link in full armor and master sword rides a firebreathing dragon and takes down jetfighters and becomes more metal than christopher lee with a god damned broadsword.

I think Skyward Sword did make good use of the technology in a magical setting. Fi was like a magical AI, but without an off button sadly.
I would like it if Nintendo did more with Skyward Sword setting, than what we got.

Specifically the Lanayru desert. It had an invisible pirate ship, time stones, and little robots, and the little weird wind blower.
They were technological, but something a bit more grounded in its fantasy setting. A mix like you said.
The Zelda series has gone a long way since it first started out back in 80's. Ocarina of Time had next to no technology, but then slowly went into incorporating it, in later installments.
I guess Zelda could also take a page from Final Fantasy VI, then we could get our mechs. My dream will come true!

Now flaming chainsaw swords belongs in X. I mean, I don't care if guns are more practical on a mech. A flaming chainsaw sword was something Xenoblade was sorely missing.

Technology has appeared in several zelda games but it is never actually a part of link's world.... In twilight princess you had the occa who were a technologically advanced race however that was the only section where technology was implied or relevant. In Skyward sword you had the robots but they were part of a distant, long gone civilization. In other words technology is very situational and does not play a particularly important role in the series nor in the life or hyruleans. The technology that is relevant is always more on the simplistic side... You have the train in some game I never played or the pictobox as things which are part of daily life in hyrule or the ocean or whatnot. Its very limited and to a great extent avoided. Imagine seeing the hyrule castle in a technologically advanced setting or link trying to save the world in a world where people were technologically advanced enough to have forgotten the old gods and then ganondorf is reborn and reminds everyone that demons are still out there... And then links saves the day via swordfighting from a firebreathing dragon against a dark magically powered mecha with a flaming chainsaw sword controlled by ganon.

I guess the 3 Goddesses don't look favorably towards technological advancements :teehee

I dunno, Termina had a Clock Tower, Observatory and Cameras and they were left doomed to be destroyed by the Moon. (It was an evil mask who did it, but still..)
The most advanced technology Hyruleans ever made was either in the far past or far future (Adult Timeline) where the Goddesses just kinda left, I guess.
But what do I know? It's not like the Goddesses have done anything wrong, like, giving part of their powers to morally questionable gingers...:whistle

Yeah I know, it's part of Zelda's world that technology is supposed to lie off in the far corners of the world, and the best thing Hyruleans can muster are fishing rods. I have no problem if the next Zelda is gonna take that same route, but darn it, I want my Robot Pirates back. They need to come back, seriously.

A Robot Pirate riding his firebreathing dragon with a flaming chainsaw sword, fighting with Ganondorf in his dark magic powered mecha, shaped like his horse, against Link in his own Epona shaped mech...with guns
Somebody please make a fanart out of this. :tss
