Just remember guys, our original schedule for TG spoilers was Monday Tuesday (usually tuesday).

We have been incredibly lucky to have been getting them on friday nights/ saturdays. But our early-access source has been cut off to prevent illegal spoilers which has been incredibly apparent to Young Jump lately (because people keep posting them all over Ishida's twitter)

So after watching people campaigning for it in manga war's I'm in the middle of catching up on this. I had dropped it around the of the auction. I've been going through it pretty steadily and was enjoying it right up until Koneki decided to become a villain in glasses for reasons I do not comprehend.

No spoilers please, but tell me I'm currently at chapter 61 and should I be enjoying this? Or will I get to part soon that I will be enjoying.

Because, and maybe this is just me, but I feel like this kind of sucks.

He threw the Gourmet off a building. He's ignoring Touka down in some prison cell. Is there a reason for this I should be understanding at this part of the story or is Koneki just transform into a douchebag for no reason.

It's hard to tell you without spoiling, so I'll just say that you're very close to some major developments. The parts that, if I understood correctly, you feel are lacking will be filled later on, as the point you're at is a transitional phase of the story.

There is a reason, more or less. I could come up with a bunch of accessory explanations on the spot, though, as it's another one of the many details to file under "symbolism" and "Kaneki's psyche" (which are right next to "Ishida just liked it"). It can also be fun to search the series for places where you've seen the same glasses

The places that would lead me to think they were done for symbolism and "just because" are both very close to where you are now, while the one about Kaneki's psyche is... very far.

By the way, it's Hinami that's in jail, Touka just appeared to rescue Tsukiyama. Not that it changes too much.

Ok, some updated impressions. I've made it to, I think it was 125.

A couple chapters after whichever one involved sex. Big fan of that chapter, by the way. It's not every manga that is willing to devote a whole chapter to that. They just shove it into about 3 pages of anticlimactic disappointment. Not Tokyo Ghoul. Got a full chapter of high quality, and tasteful, "physical romanticism". All my previous issues, like the glasses, were immediately and totally forgiven. Good job, Kaneki.

Now that I have a little better view of the big picture I'm a little less harsh on Re than I was at around chapter 60. Still not really a fan of the way this whole thing started out, and it took way to long to develop for my liking, but I do see the value in most of what it did. I also love the cast of characters that the story has front and center right with GOAT, I just wish it could have been a little quicker getting here.

The conclusion with the fight with Arima was fantastic. Though I found the fight itself kind of confusing with all the cutaways and symbolism interlaced in there. The emotional payoff at the end was top notch though.

And I certainly can't say enough good things about bringing Amon back. My Amon X Mado ship returns from beyond the grave! Hell yeah!
