HOw not? If Natsu somehow shows he can beat August, then it'd make sense that he beats August here. I hope not though, because as far as we know, he has no way to beat someone who took on Gildarts and Cana and might have killed them if it weren't for Mavis and wiped the floor clean with Jellal's team effortlessly.
Plus, Irene never lost fairly either, she only lost because she killed herself. So we don't know how well she'd do.
Since people are starting to declare their affiliations, I might as well state that I'll be supporting August, with the proviso that I'll do so while interpreting all five remaining characters in the best possible light. My lone vote doesn't amount to much, but it would be nice to see interesting simulated matches, hopefully without undue downplaying directed at some particular character. As to why I'd throw my lot with the king of magic, it's on account of his reputation if taken to be close to the truth, his demeanor if not triggered, the versatility and scope of his ability if optimized to its utmost extent, and the promising implications of the nature of his magic power as a result of being born from two cursed anomalous prodigies... I mean, had Hiro not messed up, August could have been THE ultimate omnidisciplinary archmage in the series, surpassed only in terms of power but not magical knowledge by the much older dark mage and the even older dragon king
If August can deal with Zeref then August will be the champion. August is stronger than Gildarts. August is stronger than Irene. Unlike Zeref, August will fight Natsu to win and not to enjoy some game so August will be victorious.

Keep it 100, while power debates can get too heated and wild out of control most of the time it's super fun at the end of the day. Really gonna miss this when FT is over. Hopefully with our neighborhood debater @BluePegasus back once the tourney is over we get can back to the power ranking thread. I need villains next!
