Yea but that's the manga. Getting trolled for plot is a thing when you're that OP. Heck if you're going to apply plot, then no FT member can lose here unless they fight themselves

But if we go by the manga, the standard for potentially beating Acno is FH Zeref + the timelapse. The first half of that equation is an unsightly creation such as infinite magic. The RHS is arguably worse - an anomaly in universal law. Both FH and the Timelapse have no place in this tournament, and I wish that were the case in the manga too tbh. Hence no Acnologia :P

We were thinking a special round at the end - all 32 participants vs Ichiya. But even then we would have to apply too many restrictions to Ichiya so it wasn't feasible

You can thank Axiomus for the pics, well the good quality ones. Even made the one for Bloodman, which I think is one of the better ones. (Fan artists got no love for him).

Natsu is in the class of Zeref and Acno (I've said this months ago). Why are they banned—restricted—and not him?

The way I see it, no bias intended given it´s me saying this, but August should pretty handily take this thing seeing as nullification isn´t restricted and copying caster spells is just far too powerful an ability to begin with.

Natsu will be one to watch though. I´m gonna carefully sift through all of the debate arguments regarding his matchups.

IF August meets Erza and Irene does meet Natsu, it wil indeed be a miracle for the spriggan duo to move on. Count on it.

But again, this is still a popularity contest more than it is a tournament on power, so there's a decent chance either Natsu will win or August won't. As it stands, Natsu has no way to beat August and might not be able to beat Irene, but that won't stop his fans from thinking otherwise.

Not gonna lie, but I'm extremely disappointed that Irene was able to walk out of Group A with 5 other dragon slayers in the same group.

I'm assuming that Irene advanced simply because of power ranking, which is fine.

But if she was able to survive a battle against 5 dragon slayers, then I'm very curious how the 1 vs.1 battles will play out... where she will be fighting against only 1 dragon slayer instead of 5 as we saw in Group A.


Otherwise, all other contestants advancing from Group A are fine by me. Good luck to Natsu, God Serena, and Sting.

I loved her development in this arc, from being ready to murder Brandish in cold blood to protect her comrades, to much later in her dialogue with Brandish while Natsu lay dying, affirming her commitment to protect Natsu regardless of how much stronger Brandish was compared to her and her personal feelings for not wanting to fight Brandish.

I expected more from her when it came to actual battle scenes. Would have been great if she took down Jacob alone.

She doesn't need to fight all 5 DS. But only 4 people will move on. That means, if she wants to advance, she has to beat the 4th best DS. Canonically, she couldn't do that.

But fair enough. I'm just curious to see what will happen when she faces other dragon slayers later on, that's all.

Acnologia never feared her.. Irene practically admitted herself that she could not beat Acnologia.

As for the dragon slayers, most of them could revert her dragon form. But I doubt I'm gonna convince you on this, so I'll let you have the last word if you so wish.

It likely will. This year, we have a lot more powerful dragon slayers, so I'm interested to see how far each will go.

It depends if the regen is a part of his immortality. However for the sake of the tournament he won't be able to regenerate. He can still be immortal - a win can be achieved without a death (a KO for example).
