I am not sure of what is going on here. I can buy the one guarding the book being among the stronger people in the PB family. But giskar just got here... So he wasn't there guarding the book? Gustang made a big show last chapter about recovering his memories but it seems like someone who is not gustang sent giskar for them. Gustang doesn't seem particularly aware of where his memories are.

Spells were supposedly forbidden by Jahad. Being that this is an offspring of Gustang and under his tutelage, I would not be the least bit surprised. Not unlike the other crazy one fighting Yuri or even when Gustang saved dying poisoned Rachel with but a glance. I think there is a good chance many of the higher ranked PB use spells.

Hugo wonders why Lobadon's army is there as this position seems meaningless from a strategic point of view. But then again, she doesn't know why Gustang sent her here as well. Maybe Lobadon knows something about this. Kadede informs Lobadon of a gate Dowon discovered, LPB attack with missiles that are stopped by a wall, Dowon destroys the gate (saying, as always, that she wants to stop the war so that innocents wouldn't die ) and quickly vanishes. Lobadon tells his troops to go into defensive mode and never to respond even if attacked.

Ivaamon summary

Hugo notices that Robadon knows the reason Gustang send Hugo there. Robadon's army attack, Dowon destroys the gate that teleports to Yama's side and then Robadon orders to retreat. Yama and Yas enters the building with the book. Giscar is going to the room with the book but notices the door was already open.

Yama and Yas attack Giscar but he handcuffs them and beats their ass. Giscar says he has an order to bring the book back to Gustang and asks how do they know about the book even tho Gustang is the only one in the family who knows about the book, he then enters the room of the book and Yas proposes Yama to let him control his body.

Giscar has a monologue about the reason Gustang wants the book, Yas and Yama enters and they fight, Yama's body is controlled by Yas and they beat Giscar.

They take the key to the handcuffs that's called Key of despair. Yas uncuffs Yama but the Key of despair is actually a key that unlocks despair, Yama's handcuff changes shape and stabs Yas, end
