How to split track songs?

Let's say I have a song in mp3 format(not split trax) and I want to split the background music to make it into an instrumental song. Is it possible? If it is possible, which software do I need to do it? Sometimes songs are nicer without the words..:D

Thanks.

Re: How to split track songs?

afaik, it's possible but quite hard since it must be done manually...i think...:p

think of it like a customized video editing job.....more trouble (moneywise and time-wise) than its worth....trust me....:smile-big

the next best alternative is to get a midi file version of the song. it's what they use in karaoke and polytones in not so recent cellphones btw.... :D

the good thing with midi files is you can use notation viewer/editors and see the notes and the entire score (with several tracks/instruments) of the song and print it out!!! :o good for budding musicians who want to learn. :)

Re: How to split track songs?

All you can hope to do is suppress the range of frequencies in the song that correspond with the human voice. This will also, however, suppress any music that is also in that frequency range.

Re: help! my lappy is getting screwy!

Here is a link to the page on PC Guide's website detailing what a "memory parity error" is, along with other info that might be useful.

Re: help! my lappy is getting screwy!

what have you downloaded since it started crashing any new patches, windows updates, drivers, programs etc etc etc.. if youve updated your lappy in any way that could be causing the issue. if you have the opportunity to roll back DO SO if there was a wow update check wow forums for any issues witht he build. i remember back in the day when i was playing wow of one patch that would cause me to crash and reboot, went away after the next wow patch...

Re: help! my lappy is getting screwy!

It'd be easier to determine the problem if I knew the model, OS, etc >.> Because HP has those kinds of issues a lot :/

Re: help! my lappy is getting screwy!

@ohdearmoshe- i want to exhaust all possible sources before asking their dreaded tech support... they're about as clear as bisque

@mrcongojack- thanks! :D..sadly the error happens while i play, and not while i start up (thus my BIOS is clean....)

@eorda- i've downloaded a few patches, but i make sure to scan before downloading, and after downloading....i've also just recently rebooted my os.

@ladyhatake- i've edited my previous post with the specs :P

Re: help! my lappy is getting screwy!

Okay, the Dell memory is probably what's causing it. It could be corrupted. Someone HERE had the same issue and used the recommended steps there.

If that doesn't work, you're best bet (without contacting tech support >.>) is to literally do a google search on "Memory Parity Error." Because this seems to be a common problem, there are many web pages/forums out there where people have asked similar questions and received solutions. I use that method often, since HP's tech support pisses me off >.>

Re: help! my lappy is getting screwy!

Like what LH said, try get a memory test. Even Avast! Anti Virus can give you a good memory test.

Worst come to worst, contact Dell and have them fix it. Sorry can't help much. =/

Re: help! my lappy is getting screwy!

Who says there's not professionals around?

To properly diagnose a BSOD you need the crash codes -

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic40108.html

That sums it all up.

Crash codes look like THIS:

STOP: 0x0000007B (0xEB82784C, 0xC0000034, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

Those funky numbers tell you exactly what's going on - ( theres a couple hex codes, and a couple memory addresses usually ) That first one that I highlighted - is the actual fault code which says exactly what error happened. MS usually has a KB page on the code - so you can look it up real easy.

OhDearMoshe - When quoting the MS KB - check the applicable OS for the article. Those are 2K & NT. Real old - and they may no longer apply. That thing was talking about SIMMs ... ow.

It's best to diagnose a BSOD by the crash code & OS version - not the description string.

Try doing a description string diagnose on IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL - heheh ;)

You've got like 100 possibilities for that single error. O man it sux.
