I of course am a huge fan of Tsubasa and I have read the manga series up to the current chapter and have also watched the anime up to episode 40. However after seeing both of these I realized that there were a lot of differences between the two. Now I know that this is not uncommon for a anime to differ from the manga, but in this case I was curious what every one else thought about it.
The main difference that I noticed was that the anime seems to have moved rather quickly thru some of the various arcs, most notably Piffle World and the races there. Also of course the addition of the filler episodes have altered the anime further. However it was not the pace or the filler episodes that irritated me the most, it was simply how Sakura was portrayed in the first world they went to. I mean I know that the feathers are powerful, but I just do not see them making someone fly etc etc. That and Sakura seemed...well....not the same character she was in the manga at first. Happily her character seemed to fall more in line with the manga as the anime went on, but it was that first impression that kind of got me.
Now dont get me wrong the anime is not all that bad at all, I adore seeing everyone in color and hearing their voices. The fact that I know what will happen has not discouraged me at all like I was afraid that it was going to. But if it came down to it, I am for the manga all the way. No filler-ness, lots of action, and of course the beautiful artwork.
Now if they would only release the latest chapter.
