MS
Underrated
Inui. He is very good he took a few games from tezuka, he was able to control the game with renji, he completely shut ryoma down, and has some of the best stamina of the MSers.
Gin. He is the #2 power player of everybody.
Chitose. Not many people can break saiki and he still has muga.
Overrated
Hirakoba. He is not that good.
Jirou. He can't do anything.
Momo. BJK is his his best move and toyama could return it at the start of camp so just about any top player can.
HS
Underrated
Duke. He has power and skill.
Danji. He has alot of power.
Mutsu twins. They are top level players and have synchro.
Overrated
Irie. He refuses to go all out and purposely lose games for no apparent reason.
Fuwa. He can play with his eyes closed and he is #11 in japan. He has eyes that are mirrors which is only useful against like 5 people in the entire series. He has no special moves and is not that good. Definitely not #11 material.

Overrated MS: Tezuka, Fuji, and Ryoma. They get the most power ups and its usually when they play a "tough" opponent, just to advance the plot. Fuji because he hasn't done much throughout NPoT yet he still has a devoted and huge fanbase. He's only played in 2 official matches and he's obsessed with surpassing Tezuka. For Ryoma, he has the least amount of character development yet so many fans still enjoy him.

Underrated MS: Going to have to say Yagyu. When he's partnered in doubles, he's a formidable opponent along with Niou. He's also polite when most players are cocky and/or arrogant. I would have picked him over Oishi/Kirihara for the team.

I didn't say Atobe, despite his popularity, because he actually has the most character development.

HSers not sure.

Mirror Eyes works on more than 5 people. As mention in 10.5

He used his technique "Kyouzou" to bounce back his opponents' techniques and abilities and climb his way up into the 1st String.
Seems like it works on lots of people. Fuwa definitely is #11 material.

Chitose is overrated. He's doesn't even beat 3rd court. Momoshiro BJK, on the other hand, beat some 1st stringer.

I do agree that Inui is underrated by lots of people though. I don't think anyone think Rin and Jirou is any good anymore.

Wow so you mean that 2 middle schoolers who played one of the best highschool doubles team and came very close to winning is not good. He also dominated tezuka, so no he is not overrated. With only muga he can take out most of the MSers add saiki which very few people can stop and he is a top tier player.

Fuwa is good but not #11 good. I don't see him beating danji or izou, but that is my opinion.

I wouldn't say Chitose is overrated or underrated. As a character, he's abilities are overestimated. As popularity is concerned, he's really underrated. He's just an average character.

In terms of overrated, I'm reminded of Nakgauchi's quote where he said MS don't have enough basic training and gets tired quickly, and later about how Krauser relies way too much on a special move which is why he didn't have the stamina to last the whole game since he was counting on the special move basically KO the opponent. That can pretty much be applied to a large number of the 'overrated' MSers. Like you can see a guy like Tezuka or Ryoma obviously has no plan on actually training hard enough to have the stamina for a 3 set match and sometimes it doesn't even look like they have a plan for a one set match (see Ryoma's usage of Muga when he obviously does not have the stamina to keep up with Muga's excessive stamina drain for even 1 set). While we're never told why Atobe has the best baseline stamina, at least we see this mentioned enough that we can assume this is what he works on all the time. A whole mess of guys are just 'no stamina? no problem because I got a plot bailout'.

I think the bigger problem is people doing stuff That is stupid. Krauser hitting 5 balls to make his cross. If he hit 5 southern crosses instead he would have had a chance. Sanada not using lightning against ryoma. He could have used it once and won.

I don't know, higher base stats, and vanish and danji no xxx being reflected... Is there actually a way they can win?

Chitose? 6-1 is his actual score against Tezuka. He doesn't dominated Tezuka. He also wasn't selected by the coach so his potential isn't there. And he lose to 3rd court doubles 1, which is weaker than 2nd court doubles 2, which is weaker than 2nd doubles 1, which is weaker than 1st court doubles 2, which is weaker than 1st court doubles 1, which is weaker than 1st stringer 18-19, which Momoshiro beat. Now you tell me Chitose is underrate while Momoshiro is overrate? Sure.

So you think momo could beat chitose. That is not even close to true. If he could destroy tezuka with Pinnacle hard work. Than momo would be destroyed.

The problem is that a move like Saiki is totally bogus, even if it was real. As in, if I have Saiki and I go up against someone much stronger, what's going to happen is I glow slightly and would be like "OMG I'm totally going to lose badly". Saiki has been proven to be flat out wrong, like Ryoma's Saiki can't account for Yukimura's yips, and Chitose's Saiki doesn't even account for things like Tachibana using his best move and that he's purposely hitting it in a certain spot (avoiding Chitose's blind spot due to his eye injury). So, it's not even that reliable, but even if it was 100% reliable, if Chitose matched up against Momoshiro all he'd see is that he'd go broke from buying new rackets since he has no way to stop Black Jackknife, as that's a move that can easily overpower even a low end 1st stringer.

Momo wouldn't be able to hit it because he can't stop kamikushi and with muga chitose can return it with another BJK or any other move momo can't touch.

And how would momo return lightning or any other move and if need be chitose can use tezuka phantom to win one of momos serves and win the other ones with zero shiki serve, neo scud serve, giant habu, and every other serve which momo can't come close to returning.

---------- Post added at 12:20 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:11 AM ----------

Sorry mistake by me chitose can't use tezuka phantom. Muga doesnt work for tezuka zone so probably doesn't work for phantom either.

It's not needed. Momoshiro is 1st stringer tier while Chitose last seen around 3rd court.

Underrated and overrated in relation to what? It's impossible to do either if there's no rating established to begin with.

In relation to what court they are on or if they are the MS reps or if they are not the MS rep and should be.

6th Court
Yagyuu, Yuushi, Kikumaru, Chinen, Hirakoba, Amane, Kamio, Ootori, Sengoku

7th Court
Minami

9th Court
Mizuki

No. 1 Byoudouin
No. 2 Tanegashima

The only way I can see Chitose beating Momoshiro is if he just rolls out of the way on a Black Jackknife, because Momoshiro's other stats doesn't seem to be particularly high and there's usually a limit to how many times you can use your power moves, though dodging power shot moves is probably against the law in the world of POT. Even if Chitose doesn't get his arm destroyed, he'd still run out of rackets for sure.
