1. it should have been gray and Natsu vs Jellal in the tower of heavens arc being that they both see Erza as a big sister
2. The GMG arc would be an all time fan favorite arc if it wasn’t for the Natsu vs sting and rogue fight and the end of sting/cat storyline.
3. After all these years, Laxus still has not done anything redeemable enough to be accepted back in fairy tail after the horrible stuff he did in battle of fairy tail arc.
4. Wendy going dragon force for the first time is the best part of Tartarus arc.
5. How Wendy is used and Erza fights are the biggest reason that fairy tail gets so much slack.
6. Hiro Mashima is happy he brought Lisanna back into the story only because it’s the only way he can write Mirajane to lose.
7. The key of starry sky arc is the most boring arc of the series followed by Edolus.
8. Fairy tail still being the strongest guild even after 7 years away is biggest asspull in the series.
9. Achnologia’s backstory was fine and wasn’t as bad as people say
10. Hiro Mashima is a top tier story teller but should have let someone else write his fights cause they are ruining his story.
11. Fairy tail has the worst and most inconsistent power scale system in all of shonen
12. If you take away his fight with baccus, Elfman is the biggest waste and most useless character on the show
13. Happy should have been given a power boost post 1 yr time skip. I’m not talking anything crazy just something like he has increased his flying speed by 10x

2. Well, GMG was a clusterfuck even without that. But Twin Dragons getting completely shat over cemented it as the 2nd worst arc of FT (worst of course being Alverass). But it's fine, this is unpopular opinion sections after all lmao.

8. AGRREEEED !!!! That, and FT mages (and few others like Jellal and twin dragons) jumping up several tiers in one year to reach a level that many other mages took severaal years to reach. It's a ginormous slap in the face of every other mages in the series.

I think Team Natsu power is downplayed by Hiro mashima. Basically they aren't as strong as they should be.

At this point Erza should have had more armors comparable to Nakagami in power. Also with Dragon Lacrima being a thing I found it hard to believe Erza hasn't developed a Dragon slayer armor after the events of GMG and Acnologia. Hiro mashima tends to stick with the red pants sword which was fine 3-4 arcs ago but with all the time jumps and Opponents Erza has faced I expected to see some more logical powerful armors. I am also not talking about Wendy enchanting stuff.

Natsu at this point should have been able to tap into his God flame, Etherion, Flame of rebuke, Atlas flame, etc power if he was able to retain his Lightning form why not the others. Also he should have mastered Dragon force at this point. I would also think he would have learned to combine all these forms into one mode combined with Dragon force.

Lucy should without a doubt have more keys at her disposal. Beyond that though I would have thought she would have used Crux to learn more powerful spells and study the spirits individual powers so she wouldn't need stardress or to summon them to use their powers all the time. Also her combining stardresses should be more of a common practice versus a special move at this point. It was already established like 5 arcs ago she could comnbine spirits powers so I would only make logical sense she combine spirit stardresses at this point as a common practice.


Another unpopular opinion is I think the series would be so much better if it focused on the adventures/travels more so than the fighting.

• I think Team Natsu should be split up temporally. I don't think the 100 Year quest should have featured Gray or Lucy but instead focused on Natsu, Erza, Wendy, Sting, and Rogue. With the quest being Dragon related it would make sense only those with some form of Dragon Slayer Magic to be allowed on the quest as other magics are supposedly ineffective against Dragons. While yes Erza doesn't have dragon slayer magic I would think it would have been great for to further explore how Irene undergoing Dragonfication while pregnant with Erza effected Erza, Which it should have in some way.
• With that said I think Lucy and Gray should have been given their own Manga in which case Lucy's manga focused on her finding Aquarius Key+Other Spirit Keys and travelling the world. While Gray's focused on the White Witch, Dark Guilds and Demons.
• Each Manga should have been written and designed by a different Mangaka with Hiro Supervising so he has more time to focus on Eden Zero but still have some connection to his work.

All in all I think this would have allowed more characters to get screentime without the series feeling bloated with the added fact of expanding the Universe.

I actually liked that arc as well, was pretty good for a 'filler' (tho I believe it's canon, just doesn't have manga). It's in my top 5 arcs of the series
