Re: 219 Discussion [Vagabond]

Just wanted to tell Strays excellent job for their scans on 216-219. I just downloaded them, read them, and quite enjoyed them a lot. I also finally downloaded the entire volume 23 by KO-Scans that I've been meaning to do for a while, and great job on that as well.

Hope you guys plan to keep doing Vagabond for quite a while!

As for this chapter, all I have to say is that it seems like Musashi's battles with the Yoshioka school ain't over yet. I was hoping for a reunion between Musashi and Otsu, though, but I guess that's not coming up right now.

Re: 218 Discussion [Vagabond]

He did kind of disappear on us, didn't he? So did the old lady, too. Hmm. And Otsu and Musashi only exchanged a glance.

Well, perhaps a reunion is coming up soon enough.

I agree, the ending of the battle was sweet. It was more unpredictable than I expected, given that we were shown a glimpse of what was apparently the deathblow earlier on in volume 22 and that turned out to only be the precedent to the finishing move. Very clever on the mangaka's part, as usual.

Whazzzup guys,

I'was reading over the KO Scans topic @ http://mangahelpers.com/forum/index.php?topic=4941.0, for I'm trying to get the all the Vagabon chapters released so far, but neither VNmanga nor MangaTraders are working properly.

Do you guys know where enlse could I look for it?!

Thanks and cheers! ;)

Re: Musashi - Eiji Yoshikawa

the current german edition of musashi is totally screwed because they condesed it from 1300 to 790 pages.
how can someone garble such a piece of world literature by ripping out almost half of its content?

luckily i found an older edition from the 80s on ebay and therefore could enjoy this epic adventure in its full amplitude.

Vagabond finally comes back this week

So, has chapter 220 been serialized in Japan yet? I've been checking Inoue's site, but he hasn't posted his sketches, so either he's slacking on his site updates, or he's taking another week off. :notrust

Yeah it is kind of late if it's coming out this week. I doubt it is though, Inoue is so fucking lazy and undependable that you never know when the next chapter will be out.

It's cool. He released previews for the chapter on his site a couple days back. It should be out in Japan right now.

Inoue isn't lazy, he has tons of shit to do.

In any case, the Morning website lists Vagabond as being in this issue of the magazine, so it's there. But no one has scanned it yet.

well yeah that's more accurate, but you gotta' admit he's still undependable.

Actually he generally announces when he's gonna get a break, how long is gonna take, when's the next chapter gonna come out, unlike many other mangaka (Kentaro Miura comes to mind). And if you look on his website, you'll see he's doing many, many things (other manga, DVDs, basketball coverage).

So while I agree with you that regular weekly chapters with no breaks would be nice, I disagree with with your view on him.

Re: Vagabond finally comes back this week

Wow BOSS... I can understand the anticipation after a long break, but this guy deserves our respect, not our aggression at being impatient. And Siedhr, no need to use exaggerations.

Inoue's fucking lazy and Miura doesn't regularly announce when he's coming back from breaks? Miura's on his first break that he hasn't announced when he'll return since the start of Millennium Falcon 5 years ago. Siedhr, how long have you even been following Berserk? Did you just make the assumption he doesn't announce his breaks from the most recent episode? Anyway, Inoue's taken 2 major breaks, including the end of the Kojiro arc, where it was totally understandable.

You know, they aren't just laying around on these breaks. They do research and catch up on future episodes/chapters in an already-hectic schedule. These guys jobs are insane. Can you understand how much pressure they are to meet deadlines? Inoue pumps out masterpieces like these once a week on his normal schedule. Miura takes breaks and DOES regularly announce when he'll return, then goes on 4-5 episode non-stop rampages.

I won't bother comparing the two, since I love them both and it'd be sacrelige to say one's better than the other.
