I'm personally glad to see Inoue is deviating from the novel, I like Kojiro and kinda hope they don't end up being enemies at any point.

Fun chapter, glad to see Matahachi get his finally. I still think the guy's going to somehow redeem himself later on, so maybe this will finally wake him up.

I identify more with Musashi. While I enjoyed Kojiro's arc, Kojiro has no real personality due to his deafness. It's hard to become attached to Kojiro when we never even get to his personal thoughts. I know he's deaf, but there's always a barrier between the reader and Kojiro that is not present with Musashi.

In the book if I recall correctly Musashi is hiding in the bushes before the duel with the entire school. Then he ambushes them and aims for the head of the future of the Yoshika which was this little child. Anyway he kills him so that the school can't exact revenge on him

I identify more with Musashi. While I enjoyed Kojiro's arc, Kojiro has no real personality due to his deafness. It's hard to become attached to Kojiro when we never even get to his personal thoughts. I know he's deaf, but there's always a barrier between the reader and Kojiro that is not present with Musashi.

One of the reasons that made me love the Kojiro arc was that Inoue always challenged me to guess his thoughts by using only his facial expression and attitude, and also the other characters' reactions to him. That is truly using the graphics aspect of manga at maximum. So because of that, I discovered Kojiro to be a complex character (with a personality). I must have read his volumes 10 times at least.

We could make a special thread and discuss this more thoroughly.

As to the current chapter, it was one of my favorites, along with the previous one. Loved that panel with Musashi crying. Inoue's art just gets better and better.

Better late than never, the raw and the thread for 224. Hopefully, the trans and the scan won't be too late in appearing. Get it in the RTS thread.

Unfortunately, we won't be seeing a new chapter until March, so treasure this one.

Anyway, looks like nobody dies after all. Damn Takuan, ruining the damn violence.

Still need to read the translation to get the full understanding of what happens though.

I don't understand how Ueda could have cut Musashi; shouldn't Musashi is stronger? Before reading the translation I thought Musashi had some problem, maybe he slipped or something else.

is Takuan a fallen monk or something? he seems to be too dangerous to be a common monk.
Nice chapter, Vagabond always have nice art stype and detail. 3 months is a long wait though.

Luckas, much like in real life, any superlative fighter can cut down another superlative fighter on any given day. It's the same way in professional sports, where everybody is superlative.

Musashi is always on edge because he knows this. You'll notice that he never goes into fights saying that he's going to win. He always goes in with the notion that he might die. He used to act super confident, but that was back when he was getting his ass bounced out of the Hozoin and Yoshioka dojos.

To me, there's absolutely no way that Musashi won't fight them. I guess he'll first keep running away, then he'll think of the Way of the Sword, and will accept his fate, and go to the fight.

Though Inoue's quite differed from the novel, that fight against what's left of the Yoshioka school is one of those Musashi cannot avoid. I'm 99% sure it will take place.

Suggestions for pages to color

Well, I want to test my coloring skills by coloring a Vagabond manga scan from The Strays. (Their work is awsome btw. ;D) The only problem is....I don't know which ones to color. Does anyone have any suggestions? This won't be my first coloring - probably going to be my second or third. but im almost done with my other one so I'm going to decide what to to color next. Thanks if you're actually reading this. (:
