No idea. Hopefully some Japanese good Samaritan will scan it for us.

I don't know if it's bonsaimo's scan or not (as he linked his incorrectly above) but I've got Vagabond 234 RAW on my site. Working on the translation now.

I've read 234 and I'm STILL thinking the same thingggg!!!!! * punch wall * * slash pillow *
*push table * Man, Vagabond AND Gantz read one after another is making me feel rowdy!!! :nerve :nerve :nerve

:tackle

I thought Kojiro's handwriting was so cute! And the way he was jumping around painting Musashi's name, is that symbolic or what!?!? He makes killing so innocent and artistic...

Thanks Bonsaimo, Siedhr and Zindryr...!!!

Huh??? Was that Yaoi?!?! Its NOT! It's kinda when you're a kid you keep asking around for your best friend at the playground, right? I bet everyone's done that as a kid too..??

Yeah, Inoue-sensei's sumi-e painting is so soft and subtle that it adds a spiritual element to the action. Thing... it should be much faster to PAINT than to draw/ink the art, so shouldn't sensei's release be FASTER??

Re: Vagabond 235 Discussion Thread

Well, the art is as fantastic as ever, one issue with "transparent" ink and one with dark dry brushstrokes. Musashi's aggressive aura just jumps off the page--awesome.

But is holding M down and asking his friends to chop through both of them ALL the leader of the Yoshioka elite has planned!?! Inoue-sensei planted the suggestion that they were better/smarter fighters than rest of the Yoshioka cannon fodder, but that tactic was just ... @[email protected] mean, is that ALL they can think of?

Or are we supposed to have the impression that apart from the leader guy willing to sacrifice his life, there are no true samurai left among the Yoshioka?

Yoichi went into that fight prepared to sacrifice his own life to kill Musashi. That wasn't the original plan as you could see from them fighting it out earlier and the fact that his crew was hesitant/didn't know what to do.

Suicide attacks like that aren't exactly rare in Japanese history either. I was half-expecting someone to do it at some point. But in any case, Yoichi has the greatest death ever. Had his neck snapped from Musashi pulling his on his headband. Man that was awesome.

Re: Vagabond 235 Discussion Thread

This was a very good chapter, and the end of this particular saga is going to come to a close within the next two or three chapters, and I'm eager to see where Musashi heads from here, as well as the notoriety he garners.

Very bright future for this series.

Re: Vagabond 235 Discussion Thread

I think Ueda's either going to live on or make one final blitz towards Musashi before eventually being cut down. I'm expecting Inoue to pull out some surprising twist at the end of this saga. I'm happy Inoue has gone back to focusing on the aesthetic/physical aspects of fights rather than the spiritutal/backgrounds of fights. I feel that the fight between Musashi and Shishido Baiken was ruined because of this.

My favorite battle in the series is the first bout between Musashi and Inshun. I want to see something fun like that again.
