Re: Vagabond 235 Discussion Thread

My favorite battle in the series is the first bout between Musashi and Inshun.
Yeah, that's my favourite fight too, what got me into Vagabond in the first place... though the night fight between Den and Kojiro by the sea was soooo gorgeous. Baikan was a cutie too, :P

I'm looking forward to more Kojiro... that man makes fighting fun!

i wonder if Ueda can do something more to Musashi, but he is very beaten up
I agree, Ueda is out of the game, though he looks smart, he probably has an evil plan for Musashi.

But in any case, Yoichi has the greatest death ever. Had his neck snapped from Musashi pulling his on his headband. Man that was awesome.
Man you are SICK!! :kukuku...

Just joking, that scene was SICK in a good way. A reward to Yoichi for posing a threat to Musashi.

Re: Vagabond 235 Discussion Thread

Well Yoichi's plan originally was to cluster Musashi. Have everyone surround and attack him at once from all angles. But problem is that Musashi proved too good to be taken down by that plan. So Yoichi resorted to grabbing him. Only to die.

All I can say is that if Vagabond is ever made into an anime this arc is going to be amazing.

Re: Vagabond 236 Discussion Thread

Finally came out. Thank god!

Not much to say about this one, just more fighting, really. This sort of sequence would be good for a graphic novel, but the serialization format just makes it seem all rather repetetive...

I'm waiting for this to be over so we can see what happens next!

Re: Vagabond 236 Discussion Thread

I don't want actually want the fighting to end. He has to kill seventy guys, that should take more than three chapters or so. It has to be a long drawn out fight to show why Musashi's so tired towards the end here.

In any case, I think the next chapter will be Musashi killing the last of the Yoshioka, and then either moving on or Ueda appears.

Re: Vagabond 236 Discussion Thread

Yes indeed, the end of the long battle should be near. He can barely keep himself standing at the moment! :smile-big

But it seems he's finally learning to even use the air around him as a weapon huh? That would be a great leap forward towards his final skills and techniques, I guess...

And it reminds me of the words of "the mighty Kami'izumi" in chapter 68: "My sword is one with heaven and earth. With my way, the sword need not even be present." So it means that Musashi is finally getting closer to that way of the sword...?

Anyways, it's great to see a character grow! ^^

I don't quite understand what Musashi was thinking before he got disarmed. Escape now? Or did he regret not escaping earlier?

Re: Vagabond 237 Discussion Thread

He was thinking that he could get out of the "spiral of death and killing", basically. Get out of Kyoto alive, as well. That's mainly what he was saying.

Considering how fatigued and cut up Musashi has gotten. I wonder who help him heal his wounds after the battle.

Re: Vagabond anime/OVA, good or bad?

i prefer the tv serie cuz i can´t wait the time between the ovas.... the quality obviously will be good if they decided the ova serie...but the main thing is to respect the manga story, no new final as fma, no junk chapters as naruto...ahhh!!!! pls good seiyuus!!!

Re: Vagabond 237 Discussion Thread

i doubt in real life he sustained such damage. the blood loss alone probably would've sent him into shock. then probably started on an adrenaline rush so thats probably why he's starting to feel how he looks. as for healing Asian medicine has plenty of coagulants and disinfectants but he'll have to rest for a while before his duel with Kojiro

In the book of the five rings, Musashi writes that he never got injured I think. Might well be true if you consider that most sword wounds would be lethal IRL.

His fight against the whole Yoshioka school took place in 1604, whereas his duel against Kojiro occured in 1612, 8 years after. I guess that's more than enough time to recover. :P
