I could see a connection to the Moon being totally possible, but to Blackbeard... That would be laying an awful lot of the plot at Vegapunk's feet. Guy makes Pascifistas, clones and genetic copies of shichibukai with Lunarian dna, boats that can move through the calm belt, artificial devil fruit.. also making him Blackbeard's father/creator.. May as well call the series 'Luffy versus Vegapunk' if you did that. He would have singlehandedly been the strength of both Luffy's major enemies. Blackbeard AND the Marines.

I don't think vegapunk will be BB's father but I could imagine him being a sort of runaway experiment. It sounds like something which can potentially explain him having multiple fruits. It's a bit of a reach but his name "teach" maybe fits with the theme of vegapunk's clones having weird names. Maybe he was meant to be a Vegapunk "teacher" clone before a hypothetical escape.

I'm sure you already know this, but Teach was the real life name of the rl Blackbeard.

I don't think his mind will explain multiple devil fruits. Devil pertain to lineage factors, they basically make people into xmen. BB being able to hold multiple lineage factors probably makes more sense from a physical angle.

So far, lineage factor has only been mentioned when it comes to Zoan fruits, which makes sense

Turning you into a Marvel mutant would explain the abilities, but it wouldn't explain the soul part

I don't see why not tbh. Why can't souls within OP fall within the purview of science? Add to that, it'd be weird if zoans work by creating mutants and not other types. If anything that would make them different things.

It seems that a lineage factor cannot survive two lineage factor manipulation programs (DFs). So either Teach has a lineage factor than can be altered twice (new special race or experimental race) or there are 2 lineage factors in BB each one being altered by 1 DF (a siamese tiny body hidden somewhere or 2 different lineage factors in areas of his body kinda like an altered Hogback’s zombie).

Still it is possible that Vegpunk or the WG has experimented on a member of the D clan since they have done so with the giants, Lunarians, and I imagine fisherman. And them experimenting on Blackbeard would explain alot about him and his abilities. But him basally being a run away clone/ creation no just no.

i don't think BB and Vegapunk are related. For now i cannot imagine Vegapunk spending time to make a son, i think time is better spent doing some research....Vegapunk could create clone or something but on the other hand, BB being a creation would damage BB's otherness. (As much as when all the mysterious things in OP turn out to be some inventions from the forgotten kingdom)

Blackbeard is 40, and joined the Whitebeard Pirates 28 years ago. Shanks and Buggy noted that Blackbeard doesn't sleep 26 years ago
