Kunai-jutsu brought to my attention that i should pass the message from the great spirit of the fox, The FIREFOX spread the wisdom of downloading videos from youtube.com
if you can already do it.. then, move along, nothing to see here
simple step-by-step
1. get mozilla Firefox 1.5 (if you haven't got one yet)
2. install video downloader plugin for mozilla
3. start leeching...
4. play your file with VLC media player / FLV player
step 1 - mozilla firefox 1.5
http://www.download.com/Mozilla-Firefox/3000-2356_4-10545919.html?tag=lst-0-1
easy step by step..just follow the prompt after downloading.. you'll be alright..
step 2 - videodownloader plugin
1.
http://www.download.com/VideoDownloader/3000-11745_4-10546006.html?tag=lst-0-1
click on the download link and save it somewhere..
2.
use 'open with' on the saved *.xpi file with mozilla..
this messagebox will pop up
just click "install now" and firefox will do everything for you..
restart your mozilla..
Step 3.. LEECHTIME!
before anything.. check the bottom right corner if the plugin is installed
see that film and diskette icon? that's the plugin
1. ok..open your firefox again..go to
http://youtube.com/
2.
search for whatever video you want to download..
3.
let the buffering finish.. you can actually click on the icon now but the "save as" dialogue won't pop up until the buffering is finished..
click on that film and diskette icon..
the video downloader window will pop up
speaking of which..if you haven't got VLC media player.. or you want a special player for the video you stole from youtube, click that FLV player link and follow whatever they prompt you.. personally, i like VLC...
4.
after the buffering is finished..the save as window will pop up
click save to disk..
and rename the file to whatever you want your filename to be.. but the extension have to be *.flv
and you're done the video is yours! now you can get that video of that girl you've been stalking
step 4.. playing the file
1.
get VLC media player here
http://www.videolan.org/
or
2.
convert it to video file.. but you have to go through another tutorial
