• It's a drawing battle with another artists. Mashima was given a thema "particular time in a specific era" and he decided by himself drew gruvia, no one told him to do so.
• The poop is on all the drawings, mangakas are just insulting each other all the time. “They are challenging themselves to put the poop emoji as much as they can do in every single drawing”. a source
