Well volume 62 was already released in Japan so I guess this special edition of volume 62 is only being released in France. Though it's surprising that the special edition volumes are being released outside of Japan finally.

It's continuation of Mashima's interview about Rookie of the Year Award. As for FT references:
* main hero must be recognized only based on their silhouette (ex. Natsu has scarf, Lucy has ponytail)
* if mangaka wants their main hero to become popular, they must give them a weakness (ex. Natsu's weakness are vehicles)
* good villain is a villain readers want to see defeated by heros asap
* rivals must be total opposite (ex. Natsu - fire, Grey - ice)

I love how this special edition volume doesn’t have Mavis on it which makes the volume more enjoyable to look at.

Mashima actually drew two characters from his new series on the wall. Male (bigger sketch) and female (tiny, small sketch). The writing says “new character”, but also says “not the main character” and “not the heroine”.
