I take Mares

I really dont think Current Ryoma is in Bismarck/Mares Level.

Especially when it was implied Ralph and Kiko were significantly stronger than him back in QF. He only have 1 official match against the Prince. And he doesn't have any significant power boost from then on

And we kinda put Ralph/Bismarck/Mares/Amadeus in the same tier.

This is just based on comparatively scaling. I will present my direct skills matchup analysis later.

Yeah I don't think Ryoma stands a chance here either. He's not even completely ambidextrous like Ohmagari, even if he can probably pull that trick to keep the rallies alive for longer.

Mares should keep his service games easily and then win Ryoma's with little effort, and we now know that Ryoma cannot keep his TnK active reliably either (to the point he might not had used it against Ludwig at all because of it).

Yep. And We estimated Mares defeated Kiko 6-4, 6-4 back in Semis.

And we all know Kiko always beat Ryoma 6-3, 6-3.

So, by transitive property. Mares > Ryoma.

Even though Ryoma might be slightly stronger than his USA self.

And we are not even talking about Mares White Flame yet.

And the whole body paralysis.

We do know that Ryoma apparently stronger than Pre-Final PoP Kintarou according to Shiraishi. This is after consideration that Kintarou PoP last forever already.

That said, that specific PoP Kintarou position in debate with base Mares can be debatable, but White Flame! Mares is 100% stronger than the 1st upgraded PoP prior to racquet changed Kintarou for sure.

I don't think the gap between Pre-Final Ryoma and Pre-Final Kintarou is that huge to be honest. As such, I probably need to give this to Mres.

Well, we don't even know if Mares played in that match, we just guessed. We don't know by how much Kiko won against Ryoma either or if he could pull the same against someone in Mares' tier. I'm not a fan of transitive property for match ups tbh, skills are very varied.

I'm not sure Shiraishi noticed that Kin's TnK was special, tbh. Also the wording of "odds are, you'd lose" makes me think that Ryoma was ahead but only by some margins, as you said. Maybe 60% / 40% or 70% / 30%. Not that they were like 2 tiers apart or something, which is likely the case for True Sniper + White Flame Mares.

If you think about it Shiraishi was a massive troll making Kin play with that shitty racket in the intra-nation tournament, he already knew it was busted and had a new one ready but did nothing about it. Hell he almost eliminates him himself lol.

Obviously. We just Matched Up UA QP and WF Mares last 2 threads. And even though QP won, it is not like a no diff or low diff situation.

And I dont think anyone here will suggest that Current Ryoma VS UA QP is a fair matchup. Lol

We know right.

From Ryoma's Mouth Himself:

"He (Kiko) always beat Me 6-4, 6-4"

And we are not sure if Kiko is G5 level. But I assume he is. Lol

I remembered it as Ryoma speaking vaguely about it but I was wrong. That said, I went back and checked and it was 6-4 6-4 (same result he got against Henri).

He literally say he lost 6-4. I don't know where 6-3 win is coming from?

Yep. And it was a fair match. We all assumed Kiko was in advantage because he is a 1st year Hser.

But no, He is actually a Mser age. Same case with Ryoga. (USA is handicapped by their situation this whole tourney, thats why they have weak Msers)

Kiko and Tezuka are literally the same age. Lol

Anyway, going back,

Mares is 1 tier above Current Ryoma

Ah btw I was likely wrong with this since no one in USA was introduced as HSer 4, the highest we saw was "HSer 3". So Kiko would really be a HSer 1 in Japan. But yes USA was handicapped because lol Konomi.

Ryoma has a lot of tricks that I think are being ignored here. Not only has Ryoma seen through similar paralysis shots like Spot, but also Ludovic's aces. If anyone can find another weakness to the ground stroke sniper it's Ryoma. Plus While Ryoma can't maintain TnK for 3 sets, he has Kijin as backup. Plus Hope guarantees quite a few points, even if Mares can figure it out faster than Ludovic.
Ryoma may not be 100% ambidextrous but he can still use it which means shutting off one arm doesn't beat him.
Plus Ryoma can use Tezuka Zone to stop any sniper outside of the serve.
It could enter a war of attrition like against Higa. Both hold serve until Ryoma can break it.
I do think Mares has the better odds, 70-30, but I think Ryoma has avenues ignoring mid-match upgrades

Yeah. It was 6-4. Just remembered it wrong.

But point still stands.

Ryoma just admitted he was/is weaker than Kiko.

Having said that, who knows if Kiko is close to Ralph or Mares Playing level.

Yes, but basically I do think it means that even if Ryoma PoP doesn't last as long as Kintarou, odds are he'll win by a bit at the end.

Shiraishi is probably playing the long game to have the upgrade be as significant as possible lol. What funny is that Kintarou might actually beat Ryoma back in QF and maybe stand more of a shot against Yukimura.

We'll find out more on Ryoma current level when he freshly start off against Ryoga as I said before. In my opinion, him and Prince are probably both G5 level. But we'll see soon enough.

It matters because 6-4 goes into close game range so it does shows Ryoma isn't that far off.

And in retrospect, we find out Ryoma PoP have a duration. This potentially play some contribution in him losing to Kiko.

Spot takes a long time to activate and Ryoma still fell victim to it. He just roflstomped Ibu after that because he was way stronger.

Ryoma hasn't used Ki Jin since his match against Ludwig and didn't even notice he had it activated, he surely cannot use it at will at all. He also hasn't used his right hand in serious rallies since... how long? Ryoma using Nitoryu against Akutsu is anime only, he was returning everything with his left hand there in the manga.

Ryoma cannot hit Hope from serves and, if it works like Destruction, without the super sweet spot. Mares' Sniper aims away from the center of the racket, so he has that move sealed. Ryoma's Zone was also pointed to be weaker than Tezuka's and hasn't used it since his match against Atobe, likely since it's outclassed (it certainly would had helped him against Ludwig, for example, but it wasn't used there).

Even if Ryoma avoids using Muga like he did against Atobe and can do a Ryoma Zone + Hope combo to avoid getting ground stroke Sniped in his service games, in this scenario Mares still has the chance to return ace Ryoma whereas the opposite wouldn't happen: Kin with an Evolved TnK + a new racket stood no chance. This in turn means that Mares can win points from Ryoma's serves but Echizen cannot do the same when he has to receive.

I really like that we all see Mares as a Very High Quality Player despite having one 1 special skill which is paralysis. And an aura like White Flame.

Mares Weakness is Mental. Seda Hypnosis works on him. Seda mind Control works on him. Which also means or imply Romeo's Illusion will probably works on him too.

But, Ryoma doesnt have those illusionary techniques.

So, Pure Tennis Wise, I see Mares to have an advantage

Irie fell for Hypnosis and his Mental is:

Mental - 7: With his unmatchable mental strength, he relies on his acting skills to toy with his opponents. He can freely control his own emotions at will.

You dont know. Irie could just be acting.😉

Kidding aside,

Is it only Zeus and Kintarou who were naturally immune to it?

Irie kinda knows how to Counter Romeo's Illusion. So, it is weird that he cant deal with Seda's

This is over. Some suggestions again. hahhaha

1. Akutsu VS Tezuka

2. Sedah VS Fuji

3. Zeus VS Romeo

4. Yukimura VS Irie

5. Sanada VS Ludovic

Not gonna lie.

I am not sure Fuji can overcome Sedah's Rainbow Aura

Can Close eyes counter it? Can Fuji used the bottle cap trick since he is as tricky as Tanegashima? (Or Tane is more skilled?)

Also,
Do you guys think

Sedah can Reverse Copy all Fuji's Counters and Blizzard/Phx attacks?

Continuing.

Hot take, i will go with Sedah.

I sometimes believed Konomi created Sedah because he wanted to show the full capabilities of Zeus Rainbow Aura. ( Thru, Sedah, we knew olympus light make your shot success rate as 99%). And also to represent a carbon copy of greek representative Hades (Sedah's name is reverse "coincidentally?) who according to databook, is being presented as one of the strongest greek players, if not only second to zeus.

Going back,

Fuji's counters and attacking techniques are superb. But all of them can easily be reverse copied by Sedah immediately!!!

Imagine Sedah with Zeus rainbow Aura using Fuji's Counters and Blizzard Techniques.

We saw Sedah is capable of stacking his rainbow aura, and reverse copy. (actually he can stack his 3 hax including hypnosis but we are not including hypnosis here)
