I'm towards the side that Magico will stay. Despite it being cliche and so, I still think it has its chances.
It hasn't been faring that badly in the toc, sometimes it even rose quite high. And besides, when it comes to cancellation
there is still st&rs and hxh future hiatus. It's still too soon for magico to be axe'd.
However, the problem is after St&rs got axed and HxH (possibly) goes to hiatus. After that, there aren't going to be any series that going to protect Magico unless either Nisekoi and/or Pakky are doing really bad or older series suddenly end (but, I don't think this will happen).

There is a good chance Hunter x Hunter goes on hiatus after issue 7. Chapter 330 will end volume 31, if Togashi intends on going on hiatus again that would be the perfect time. New series should be starting in issue 8- 9. From there everything depends on how many series they intend on starting.

Knowing Nishio he didn't say that just for fun, it's his actual plan and makes sense, because this definitely is the last Arc of Medaka.
lolwut? Knowing Nisio he's just trolling his fanbase like he always does. If this is split cour like it's rumored to be than I really don't see the point of doing an anime without a manga to increase the sales for. The main purpose of an anime is to promote something, whether it be a video game like Persona 4, a LN like Hagani or a manga like Bakuman.

The thing they could be selling is NisiOisiN as a brand since this is the 4th or 5th NisiOisiN anime to be made

In that way of thinking, you forget about original animes (not based in mangas at all, like Cowboy Bebop or Tiger&Bunny) and animes made after the manga's ending (or close to it), like Busou Renkin and Hatsukoi Limited.

Exactly, and also, people seem to be forgetting that it was the Antagonist who said that it would end! XD If the manga were to end before the anime began, then that would mean that the bad guy won! Medaka Box seems to stick to shonen cliches while making fun of them, and the #1 rule in shonen manga: The good guy always wins!

...okay, maybe not 'always', but you get my point, don't count the series out just because the bad guy says so XD

It is kind of weird that from s-manga, it announced that Luck Stealer, Gekka Bijin, and Shonbori Onsen going ended even before the issue has released; but, it didn't say anything about St&rs' end.

I wonder if the s-manga's announcement is only applicalble Jump SQ and not for Shonen Jump.

Also, it is confirmed that there are no plan for the release of HxH's new volume until March, so I think there are high possibility that it might go to hiatus after chapter 330.

I'd have thought that Togashi would go a little longer since he's back to having a weekly anime now. At the very least I hope that the hiatuses will be shorter.

Even if St&rs is ending in issue 7 it is to early to make an announcement, issue 5- 6 is not even officially on sale until Monday. If they are going to announce it's cancelation in advance they will do it before the final issue, not multiple issues ahead of time. They only do that for long running, popular titles that end when the mangaka wants them to. I would assume Luck Stealer, Gekka Bijin, and Shonbori Onsen were announced a couple of weeks before their final issues, not a couple of issues in advance. Unless they ended by mangaka decision, not cancellation.

Also, it is confirmed that there are no plan for the release of HxH's new volume until March, so I think there are high possibility that it might go to hiatus after chapter 330.
I would not read to much into the release date for volume 30, that is about 5 months after chapter 320, the last in the volume was serialized. That also allows, should he choose not to go on hiatus, a quarterly release schedule typical of Weekly Jump. Chapters 321 - 330 could be collected in June, five months after chapter 330 comes out. In contrast it took about a year to release volume 29 - 30, both of which were serialized between December 2009 and May 2010. Compiled volumes did not come out until July and August of 2011. Generally Hunter x Hunter (and Berserk, for that matter) volumes are timed to coincide with new chapters, not hiatus. While I do not want anyone to get their hopes up, a March release is a strong sign Togashi will continue serialization. Shueisha never releases volume during breaks, they always time them for the next batch of chapters. Don't be surprised if this is his longest continuous serialization since 2005.

No, it´s a promotional page about next One Piece event in Japan (in March 2012), but it´s new Oda illustration ^^

I misunderstood, you mean that the release date for the next volume of Hunter x Hunter has not been announced yet. I thought you meant it was confirmed for March, my mistake.

That should go without saying though. Chapters 310 - 330 will be collected and released as volume 30 and 31 to coincide with serialization of chapters 331 - 340. Togashi has serialized exactly 20 chapters a year every year since 2008, the next one starting after chapter 330 was the conventional wisdom anyway. Really no need to check release schedules for that. Assume he goes on hiatus after issue 7, if he serializes more this time it will be a happy surprise.

So Harisugawa's next chapter will be the last one, won't it?

It seems to be, but who knows ? Perhaps the Mangaka will make next chapter a new surprise plot for us^^

I agree with this, It certainly seems to be set up for an ending, but I dont think it has ranked poorly enough to justify cancellation ahead of other series such as ST&RS, so who knows? Ii could just be a plot twist so readers are shocked, causing more excitement or something. But JUMP has made other premature cancellations before...

Re: Weekly Shonen Jump [2011] - Discussion and TOC Talk - Part 2

It won't be canceled, it has not ranked anywhere close to poorly enough to justify cancellation. Especially with St&rs and Magico dominating the bottom two. The only reason it would end now is if it were designed to be short. While unusual for Jump a three volume manga would hardly be newsworthy.

So in the end, i think Harisugawa was planned to be a short series, like Bakuman's Panty-Flash Fight. It was expected, since Harisugawa is the only new series being excluded from the Jump Next.
