I wonder what time of day they plan on airing this actually. If this is really gonna be a split cour show, then I assume the Flask Plan arc will be the second cour, and considering that;s an by the book battle shonen arc, I;m not sure how it would fair in a late night slot for otaku...

That's why I wrote and "TTGL franchise anime" not sequels. Like it or not, the Top wo Nerae! OVA are sequels, just as well as the Mahoromatic series. Does it matter how long it took them to produce them after the first? That's how they are classified and that's all that matters to me.

edit: split cour, as in "intended two [13 ep]series from the beginning"? Do you have any proof of that? How does it change the possibility of one or more sequels? I don't see what you are intending with mentioning cour's, please clarify. Is your age detail true?

well mahromatic is still a split cour series no matter how you dice it but i can see why you would classify it was a sequel since it is even though its a split cour series like medaka is rumored. maybe im not giving gainax enough credit...hopfully who ever funds the anime sees enough profit in a sequel that covers the kumagawa arc and funds it.
edit: as for your question where i got it from here http://twitter.com/#!/cyan3/status/118715183941173250 the same person who gave the info about a medaka box anime in the first place so i assume its legit. and as for my age detail yes its true.

Off topic but geez. Mag announced two titles that are getting anime, and now Jump's got two. Is Sunday really not going to announce anything?

Though I've been slowly working my way through Medaka. An anime could be entertaining, depending on how long it goes, cause it defintely gets better later.

And is the Gainax thing confirmed? I still sort of find it unlikely that they of all people would pick up a WSJ adaptation.

I meant what you tried to establish with mentioning Mahoromatic 2[what could the 2 possibly indicate to? :P] not being "real" sequels, but/also split-cour. I was associated/a fan of Gainax before you were even born, don't try to correct me on that department anymore please. What's you definition of split-cour?

Most long running WSJ adaptions are rated at least -1 point due to them full of filler[by me], had bad studios[teams], with Gainax working on it, we don't know which chapters they will use for it, but at least we know that the quality will most likely be top notch.

sorry i just dont really consider split cour series too be fully defined sequels since split cours at least what my defenition of it is a series that was intended too be 26 episodes but due too time issues or budget issues was split and the remaining episodes were aired two or one season after the first cour ended. but either way i should just be glad were likely too get the flask plan while not as good as the kumagawa arc is still good. as for animation quality i could care less honestly since i would rather have terrible animation and see my favorite manga moments covered (see beelzebub and fairy tail) then have great animation and have it cut off before it starts getting good (see air gear and d.gray man)

well.....crap it seems like medaka box may be a 26 episode series http://twitter.com/#!/cyan3/status/118715183941173250 this person is the one who gave the tip of it being in production in the first place so its likely true......we wont see kumagawa ;_;.
I'm sure we'll see Kumagawa. For me, it seems like the whole point Gainex is picking this up is BECAUSE of Kugamawa.
They'll skip all the unnecessary stuff or do something to make time for him (hopefully :P)

When they say that the announcement is supposed to be next week, they mean Monday right? So that means that we would get official conformation with tomorrow's TOC right?

So IF these news are correct then:
ONE PIECE, Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, BLEACH, TORIKO, Kuroko no Basket,Gintama, Medaka Box, Sket Dance, Beelzebub,Bakuman, Nurarihyon no Mago
All of these mangas will have anime adaptations, though the seasonal animes like Bakuman and Nurarihyon (And Beelzebub?? Did Beelzebub got past episode 26? What about Sket Dance?) won't be at the same time.. BTW an interesting question, does anyone know what's the number of most WSJ properties that have run at the same time as animes?

Not to forget Inumarudashi. How about right now? All 2year+ series got an adaption and except for Kochikame have a anime series right now. There could have been a even "better" time in the mid 90s or 00s, but I doubt anyone will take that much time to answer your question without the right database available. hehe

Hunter x Hunter x
Naruto x
One Piece x
Kuroko no Basket seems to get one
Harisugawa in Mirror world new

Reborn! does not have an anime atm. Still a lot that do though. :) I'll have to check out Kuroko no Basket when it comes out.

>_> we are counting ones that are going to have one in the future, so I think it's okay to count ones that already had one in the past...

Not if your statement is this...

It won't feel as unlikely once you've made your way through Medaka entirely...it's kind of baiting Gainax lol.

It is confirmed that Magico will be getting Vomic (this time is 100 percent confirmed).
