me too I will only comment on "big 3" from WSJ:
One piece : it gets long and boring now But I think when the crew will enter to the new world it will be passionant
Naruto : same thing, I hope it will have a good end at least
Bleach : I realy like it now, the story begins to make sense and the drawings are awesome

Also guys the situation Naruto is in kinda reminds me of Dragon Quest: Dai No Daiboken, IIRC it was the first really long manga I read from start to finish, don´t worry, I won´t spoil, and for those that have yet to read this manga.. READ IT! ITS GREAT! XD
Anyway, as the name implies its based on the Dragon Quest games, the manga itself feels pretty much like an RPG, heck in the tankoubon extras there are times when the mangaks give character profiles of each character and tell us what "Lvl" they are.
I.e. a summary of x battle.
Dai Lvl 30, Pop Lvl 24, Mam Lvl 20 (And the spells they know) vs. Hyunkel Lvl 38 (And its spells)
LOL, I always write to much, but anyway what I mean to say is the manga is very RPG-ish so naturally when there is only one enemy left I was like.. "Well, there is just one enemy so I can expect this manga to end in 2 volumes max!" (That was back in volume 30 IIRC) it continued through other 7 volumes.. So all I can say is with Naruto if Kishimoto wants to he can stretch it, after all if DQ Dai No Daiboken was stretched that much, Naruto can be stretched waaaaay muuchh since there are lots of villians.

For everything else, I can;t make any solid predictions, even though Toriko is moving at a much faster pace than would be expected of that sort of adventure series.
Really? The pacing isn't really that fast. The Gourmet World is the crux of the series and we're not even there yet (in comparison, One Piece got to the Grand Line faster). I expect Toriko to get much more popular when we get into that part of the world.
Toriko does constantly try to one-up itself, though, so it may give the illusion that it has a fast pace.

Also as a extra prophecy of mine: I think ONE PIECE will get published in 2 different Shueisha magazines at the same time in the future, It will still have its weekly chapter in WSJ but the same chapter will be published in other Seinen Shueisha magazines the same week, something like that, for readers of Seinen magazines that grew with ONE PIECE[/B]
That would mean Jump will be exclusively losing sales and gaining nothing:
- the seinen people who buy Jump for OP will no longer buy it as it is in the mag they're subscribed to
- the seinen people who buy the OP tankobons just to read OP may stop buying them, because it's in the mag they're subscribed to
- no one will buy a seinen mag for OP
- the seinen people who don't read OP but want to... will read OP in the mag they're subscribed to, changing nothing and paying nothing extra

There's no reason for them to do it. One Piece will stay exclusive to Jump.

Nice doing, Kaiten... :shakefist now I don't even need to try make a list. I'd fully agree for most parts.

and I know the comercialization in other regions of the world is gonna be though because of the baby being naked..
Funny thing is, in my home country the publishers are usually quite the chickens. (No experiments, just mainstream series and sure bets, i.e. famous authors, certain genres [Boys Love, Shoujo, Mainstream Shounen]...) And they take years to publish stuff, but in Beelzebub's case Tokyopop announced the serialization right when the series was running for half a year or so and only had about two or three volumes out.

That sure was one big WTF moment for me.^^

Yeah I get your points, they are logical, too logical, yet I already said it so no point in changing it. Besides imagine if by some weird chance it happens! I will be able to brag I was correct!! If not then, meh.

By any chance did they aquired other JUMP manga at the same time? I have seen this tendency for publishers to buy 2 properties per time, I have also heard that that´s how mangas are serialized, i.e. "I am the publisher, I want to buy the publishing rights for ONE PIECE, Shueisha tells me sure, but you have to buy ONE PIECE and other 2 mangas" in the case of Belzebub it probably was packaged with Nurarihyon or Psyren??
But anyway as I said who wouldn´t like to license a manga with a naked demon baby in an ouendan suit!
Also, do you have any kanzenban manga in Germany?

I'll just make one prediction - Toriko will remain in the magazine after all of the current series have ended (including One Piece and Kochikame). I can't see it ending before One Piece when it's a shoe in for #1 after One Piece ends.

IMO the series that are likely to end in the near future (in no specific order) are Naruto, Bakuman and Nurarihyon no Mago. Of course the "near" future could very well be a year.

Naruto: We're approaching or already at the climax of the story. Several key questions that were proposed have already been answered.

Bakuman: The latest chapter has come full circle to what Ashirogi Muto's goal was earlier on in the series; this tells me that Ohba already has the last few chapters written out and is just working on the road to get there. I predict one or two more arcs -not including the current- before the finale.

Nurarihyon no Mago: Unless the ranking improves while the anime airs, it's currently in a danger zone right now. Since it has been successful with a sizable fanbase, I think the editors will allow it to end in a way à la Neuro.

Yeah. I think Naruto and Bakuman will end FAIRLY soon. Ooba has never been one to make REALLY long series, and the previous arc was one showing the "let's go for the big one" thing. Though it's probably withing the like "6+ months" range, because there's a lot involved in their current goal, plus it's the climax.

Naruto's been "heading toward the end" for a while now. People have pointed out how there have just been tons of battles just to show off minor characters and not much else. But now they're running out of those. The whole "war" arc is going to be dragged on a while longer, but then it'll finally get to the big confrontations before the series ends.

Medaka Box should be done by sometime next year. Maybe by spring to coincide with the rumored anime adaption by Gainax(which is probably true), but either way it;s on it;s last arc, and Ishin seems to be claiming as such in the story.
I don't really see why it would have to end around the time the anime starts, for one we'll be lucky to even get upto Kumagawa in the anime let alone the current arc. Also if Ishin wanted to and was allowed to he could probably drag it out for years and years.... this is the guy who can churn out light novels (which are twice the size of normal LNs) every month like it's nothing.

He's a damn machine... I can't believe he wants to do another "season" of Bakemonogatgari novels.. he'll have the 12 done in the series by the end of the year and with more on the way in 2012 SHAFT will never catch up.

I don't understand how you expect Toriko to keep running after One Piece. I love the manga, but unlike One Piece, it doesn't have as much plot points and content to cover.

Toriko: Still a relatively new series, a tournament manga, an author committed to world building, by and established mangaka, and has the support of the editorial staff. Toriko will be around for a long time. Sales might not allow it to be considered the successor to OP, Naruto, and Bleach but they are still good. It was nominated for the Manga Taisho award, so it appeals to manga snobs and critics. The anime just started and it has always polled high. Everything is set for another ten years in the magazine, if not more.
Excuse me? :oh

This disturbs me a lot because this is somewhat wrongdoing towards Toriko. Toriko is far from being a tournament manga. I'd consider other shounen with their certain type of fights more as a tournament manga in contrast to Toriko. I read almost - if not all - battle shounen of WSJ and I can say that this word is more on its place in the description of Reborn and Medaka Box

For the rest, I totally agree with your post :thumbs

Medaka Box is a tournament manga in a way, but given the writing of Nisioisin, the way he's sometimes meta and how he sort of glibly mocks WSJ stereotypes makes me not think of it as that type of manga. It's more than just that IMO.

With all the "Naruto ending soon" thing I feel as One Piece will be even more powerful in terms of sales, despite the ranking in the ToC, Naruto is always next to One Piece, one of the few manga that has been above it as well in the ToC in recent years, really hoping for Toriko to become a solid top 3 in the ToC then, and I hope for more competition. :)

Also looking at the current WSJ line up, many can end in the recent future, 2 years I suppose. Kochikame, Gintama and One Piece should be last three to end from the current ones, expect them to outlive other line-ups as well, like in five years.

5.-Naruto I hope this is the last arc, sadly the war has turned a way I predicted lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnngggggggg agoooooooooo.. Like back when Orochimaru first used you know what, I said to myself "This technique is too uber.."
I will be nit-picky here: "this technique" is not uber anymore because of this new event ; ] At least so far.

Surely that may be the case; I mean: when Naruto ends and fans will still want to follow some on-going fighting shounen, either they will switch to OP or Bleach <2 most known titles, imo> and stick with one of them. When I stopped watching/reading Dragonball <all volumes were published by polish publisher>, I was attracted to other title: Bleach <even though in Poland it was Naruto put as a title to begin with after the ending of Dragonball xP> When Bleach started to be boring for me <or maybe I had time, I don't remember, but maybe thats the case :p> I started with Naruto/OP. Yes, ending of one title may make ppl want to read some other <if they didn't follow it>.

I don't know if I'd put much stock into OP becoming more popular just because another series ends. It might distance the sales between it and all other series even more if something like Naruto ends, but if you're a fan of both you buy both, in my opinion. It's much cheaper in Japan.

I think One Piece is going to lose a good amount of fans and sales over the next year or two. A lot of new fans joined on because of Strong World and the Marineford arc, and I think a lot of them will drop off again when they realize all of One Piece isn't going to be like the war arc when reading weekly.

Many read One Piece, and many that read One Piece surely read Naruto, the number of people reading just Naruto, at least in Japan I think is low. So them coming over to read One Piece might not do much, but I am not sure, maybe they are in larger numbers then I think.

I also want to talk the sales/ToC again I was thinking, is One Piece going to be strong enough to sustain it's lead in the ToC and high sales until the end of the series, like the final volume. Something drastic must happen so that the story shifts in such a manner that goes downhill, or even if such a thing happen is One Piece so high that even if something that many fans won't like will happen in the story, it still will be strong?

An entirely different matter if we're talking about the polls.

OP will definitely get more votes when Naruto ends. That much is certain.
