It says that Togashi is supervising the HXH anime. And the guy (who wrote that) is excited about that.

oh and edit: I wouldn't be surprised if Ikkiyuu's ratings would get higher. For some reason I believe that chapters are hinting towards it. It got a new arc and an interesting future villain is shown. It might be that given recent arcs, its ratings are better. I really lack the sengoku armors pace
Unfortunately, at this point that's pretty much impossible. Once a series settles at rock bottom like Ikkyu did, I think the decision by Jump's editors to cancel it has already been made, and it's just living out its tenure. (I think I remember reading in Bakuman that the serialization meetings are usually eight weeks apart. As Ikkyu's eighth was published, I presume that Shueisha cut it, so despite whatever rankings it might have had it went straight to the bottom.) There's no known instance in recent memory of a new series that rankings-wise debuted in last place, that then survived... at least none that I recall. Furthermore, the awesomeness of whatever happens afterward isn't taken into consideration at all (see Asklepios).

Sket Dance debuted in last place and still luckily survived

SKET DANCE / IKKYUU COMPARISON (Includes Lead CP's and CP'S,
does not include oneshots)

Sket Dance Chapter 1 : 17/17 Dead Last
Sket Dance Chapter 2 : 16/16 Dead Last
Sket Dance Chapter 3 : 16/17 Second Last, (Saved by Hero Studies)
Sket Dance Chapter 4 : 18/19 Second Last, (Saved by Belmonde)
Sket Dance Chapter 5 : 19/20 Second Last, (Saved by Belmonde)
Sket Dance Chapter 6 : 19/20 Second Last, (Saved by Belmonde)
Sket Dance Chapter 7 : 18/20 Third Last, (Saved by Belmonde / Muhyo)
Sket Dance Chapter 8 : 11/20 and from here on does pretty well

Ikkyuu Chapter 1 : 10/20 Right in the middle
Ikkyuu Chapter 2 : 15/20 Just missed out on bottom 5
Ikkyuu Chapter 3 : 10/19 Right in the middle again
Ikkyuu Chapter 4 : 18/18 Dead Last
Ikkyuu Chapter 5 : 19/19 Dead Last
Ikkyuu Chapter 6 : 19/19 Dead Last
Ikkyuu Chapter 7 : 19/19 Dead Last
Ikkyuu Chapter 8 : Next Week :D

It would be interesting if Ikkyuu makes a comeback next week on chapter 8 like Sket Dance did, so i'm not going to count it out just yet.

The only interesting chapters of ikkyu were the first one and the one-shot, so no suprise of beeing canceld. firstly i hoped that it would survive, but now i'm happy that it's a cushion for mirror and stars.

4 chapters are finished before publishing, so after 8 weeks with new content created the author gets his first resonance from the audience. he is now at the 12 chapter, no chance to change something in particular to improve, just the things after the 12. enough time to loose fans and get axed, which will be decided 8 weeks before. the only thing you can do is to survive the first years without reader comments, just you and the editor in charge. after this time you get feedback to change things. looking at bakuman with the couple of surprise appearances of hinamaru.

get veteran authors bored after writing on a manga for such a long time? kishimoto got a overall story were you know the outline, adding new details. but he knows how it will end and how far it is away. if he get's cool new ideas he can add that to his liking. so is like a race were you know it's ending and you can see the finish line. but other authors like Akira Amano seems like to write just as a concidence. there is no real overall plot, just arc hanging loose together. there is no big villian ruling all the world or a mission, so i'm usure if that could be fun. are there any interviews with mangaka talking about this besides kubo's 10-years-masterplan?

Wow, I had no idea that Sket Dance debuted in last place. How bizarre! And how awesome of it to climb back up. I remember several stretches during which it looked like it would go any second, but it made it in the end, somehow.

That doesn't happen very often though, so while possible I really wouldn't bet on it.

I'm kinda over Ikkyu and Magico for the moment but if either of them manage to recover that's cool.

Damn Sakaki teasing the Reborn fans with plot spoilers LOL. I wish he did that often with other series too.

Yay for Reborn! Finally got a cover since the beginning of the year. This arc is going to be about the Arcobaleno too which I was waiting for.

Its about time she got to the Arcobaleno. That was suppose to be covered directly after the Future Arc rather than the nonsense we ended up getting with the Shimon. This arc better be good. I admit I really like the Reborn cover for this week.

That's a pretty nice cover. I like how the colors for "weekly jump" matches with the rainbow text on the right. As I mentioned before in the magazine color page thread, I hope WSJ will alter the color scheme in a way to make the cover more appealing. Last week's cover for Bleach looked cool because the silver logo matched with the image's color scheme. Usually the logo would recycle the same color over and over again.

He did that with One Piece before and in the end it wasn't even a big deal..

Basically Enigma and Magico are going to be relying on new manga series to flop to survive... and if one doesn't than one of them has to go.

Looks at rankings. Clearly Bleach needs more color/cover pages. heh
