@Nayrael - For Bleach is c455. I think your mistake comes from that that you don't include the chapters from the new issue. It's 8 chapters behind including the new ones from this issue.
Nope, Nayrael is right, since this week's Bleach chapter is 462, the ranked chapter is 454.

Nope, you're wrong. 462-1, 461-2, 460-3, 459-4, 458-5, 457-6, 456-7, 455-8 chaps behind, pronto? ;)
btw for Naruto is 546, for OP - 630.

As far as I remember, it's not stated that a series' ranking is from exactly 8 weeks ago.
It's somewhere AROUND 8 weeks, but the way you guys are considering it, just looks like it's confirmed 8!!

This said, I think it's pointless to put the number of the "ranked" chapter in the ranking.

Nice start for ST&RS, hope it keeps it's place.

Though with so many new series ranking high and then falling lately (and ST&RS/Harisugawa both getting early colors), I wonder if Jump's doing it in part to promote them.

I always go for 2 +/- as well, but the fact is that it is or is around the "ranked" chapter.
I put the numbers there as extra info doesn't hurt.

One Piece and Beelzebub in top 5, Bleach and Reborn in bottom 5.

Life is good.

And you go, ST&RS!

I'm surprised that there's only one new series yet again. Jump don't put only one new series often, especially twice in single year. I bet current line-up is pretty strong.

It looks like both Enigma and Magico are in red; they might get cancel on next round, unless other series going to drop lower than them. But, I keep thinking that Hunter x Hunter will be going to hiatus once again, so HxH might save one of them to be axed.

Harisugawa is next week. It or Magico failing may be Enigma's last chance. It's unfortunate that we just had the GFC. It'll take eight weeks for the new series to be ranked, which is far too late. :(

Well there;s still the possibility that Magico will go before it. Even if Magico is ranked a bit higher it did fall into the bottom five much sooner than Enigma did and probably won;t see any boost in sales like Enigma sort of has...
While it's true an increase to 38k with Vol 4 from 23k with Vol 3 is impressive.. it's kinda ignoring that Magico is already @ 32k from just the first volume. Magico Vol 2 could surpass Enigma Vol 4...

I don't think tank sales going to effect Magico's possible cancellation. If it was effective, then Double Arts wouldn't have been axed.

What saved Medaka Box than? And don't say Nisio or they never would've printed less than 20 thousand copies of the first volume. Tank sales are the main source of profit and not one series serialized since Ane Doki has managed to outsell it (56k week 1 for vol 1). Enigma if it doesn't get killed off is on track to do it since Vol 4 reached 38k, Magico hit 32k with Vol 1 and Shinigami (the longest running manga after Medaka Box) had 8 volumes to top out @ 31k. Everything else has been an utter disaster in terms of surviving and sales.

If Magico is going to be second last often enough while Enigma is bottom than what's the deciding factor? Medaka Box was in a similar situation back in the day but it outsold Akaboshi and is now comfortably cemented in the magazine with an anime on the horizon.

I think Jump will try and save both... their the best selling manga series they've had in the last 2 years.... but if one of the new series doesn't flop, or Hunter X Hunter is going for 20 weeks or Kurogane doesn't tank ASAP than one of them has to go.

How much did Double Arts sell?

And I think the difference with Medaka is that it had a big name behind it, and it fell over a much longer period of time than the likes of Double Arts or potentially Magico.

One Piece and Toriko take the top 2. I am happy about that.

Sket Dance and Medaka Box in the middle of the pack is alright with me this week. Sket Dance has been doing well for a while now and Medaka Box stayed away from the Bottom 5 again so I'm happy.

Bleach and Reborn deserve to be in the bottom for their respective last arcs. If the Arcobaleno arc is written well I don't mind Reborn going back up when that gets ranked. Magico and Enigma still are in a pretty bad spot. If they managed to sit right at the top of the bottom 5 they would be safe.

As far as what saved Medaka Box, it was the unexpectedly high amount of tank sales despite Jump not really paying it any attention for half a year and under printing its first volume. DGM and TLR removing themselves from the magazine also saved it around this time of year a couple of years ago. After that, it had enough room to survive as long as it just consistently ranked higher than the large number of flops Jump decided to march out even if it was still in the bottom 5. The only series worth mentioning that managed to stick around long enough between when Medaka Box and Akaboshi debuted together was Hokenshitsu. After Hokenshitsu, everything from then and until Enigma came along were cannon fodder.

Part of me does sort of think Jump might try to save Enigma over Magico if it comes down to it. When you think about it Enigma is the only series from 2010 that's still in the magazine. If it flops then then that would mean that entire year was a failure on their part. Of course they have had their droughts before but there;s usually been at least on or two series that survive each year.

Of course this is just me speculating and nothing's really set in stone yet. There;s still a possibility either or both series could make a comeback, though I would think Enigma would have the better chance since it;s been around longer.

Top 5 is awesome! Very pleased with One Piece, Toriko, Beelzebub and especially with ST&RS!

The middle of the TOC is for me pretty uninteresting, as I don't read Gintama, Sket Dance, Medaka or Inumarudashi.

Bleach still in the bottom 5 is well-deserved, and it's a shame that it'll probably boost right up to the top pretty soon.
Reborn and Magico has also deserved bottom 5 ranking, as both of them have been pretty uninteresting later (not the latest chapters, but the ranked ones.
Enigma is the biggest disappointment for me. It's been pretty good lately, even though it's not as interesting as it was when it first started. Personally I don't think this is the result of bad quality, but the results of very good settings and and ideas not used to it's fully potential.

I would love to se Hunter x Hunter ranked, but I guessed it's impossible when it's not going to run for very long.

I have the WSJ issue where the Kurogane one-shot ran, and I never expected it to be well-received enough to be serialized. Good for it, I guess.

It's weird to see Sket Dance in the middle after seeing it in the top for all these weeks. I'm glad ST&RS is doing well, but hopefully it won't have the same fate as Enigma. (:() Even though the start might be good, one never knows how the series might do later on.

I don't see how Enigma being the only manga from 2010 has anything to do with its survivability. A series has to survive on its own merits. There is no reason to prefer one over another based on the year it came out in (and if anything, if Magico and Enigma were equal, Magico would then get the preferred treatment because it has more potential to be a long manga with a consistent fan base).

Regarding Magico, it's obviously not as good now as it was when it started. It's just ritual after ritual. And regarding Enigma...
I don't have any proof or basis for this, and this might seem a bit out there, but I think that it's hated. There might be actual disdain and hatred for Enigma among the fans, that sprouted somewhere between chapter 20 and now. My reasoning is that the quality of Enigma is not that much lower now that it was in the beginning (unlike Magico). If so, then it may be that some former fans actively hate it now. Rather than simply not caring for it, hating it means letting others know that you hate it.
And if this is the case, then Enigma is a goner. There's no way to rebound from something like that.

Then again it might not be the case and it could just be people dropping it during the boring part (pre-climax), and never picking it up again. Then it would be "not caring" and not "hating", which is possible to rebound from.

I still think it's just arc fatigue. Most new series, since the 90s, started off with a small introduction arc (usually half a volume) to get things going before the larger story was set. Enigma had a five-volume introduction arc. The quality did stay the same, but that's the problem. The readers got bored. Magico is having a similar problem, but its quality has noticeably gone down as well.

Hello! :amuse

I believe that Reborn! will come back much stronger now. The fight with Daemon Spade is over now with Tsuna and all of his Guardians in one piece somehow. The new arc has just started up with a clear bang with many of the fans favorites back in the action. Reborn and the rest of the Arcobaleno are going to get to shine more. The fans of the Simon family can also be excited because they are still around. In short the new arc already looks very promising.

I am not sure what is going to happen with Bleach but it may come back again to the top. I mean Ichigo has Rukia and some of the other Soul Reapers at his side. He is also back a bit more to his normal self again.
