I think Mago's problem is that Shiibashi had no idea how to end the Gitsune arc, and now he's stalling for time with filler until he can figure it out. Though it seems like he's also trying to pander to the anime fans that are pretty much only in for it for the filler antics, which is disappointing.
The Kitsune arc is over tough.
He is stalling to plan the next arc out I think. Well, if it gives us a good next major arc then I can't complain.

As for Medaka getting an anime: I agree that they should wait a year or two. It is still too young and an anime adaption might just hurt it.

Oh yeah that's what I meant, bad phrasing on my part.

I think it'd be better to wait a bit for Medaka's anime as well, at least until this arc is done.

Hell I like the Mago mini-arcs right now :oh Nice to see a Jump manga again that can have its major arcs and still do some mini ones every now and then to lighten the mood.

And that cover looks pretty funny, I wouldn't mind reading it.

I just realized...is that a boy sticking his head out from the horse? :lmao

The art style definitely seems familiar. Well, it'll be worth checking out, if shonenjump.com still does first chapter online previews. >_>

The cover looks funnier because Prince looks so serious when he's actually just sitting on top of a boy.

I remember liking the one-shot version of Grimm very much mid of last year. Yes the artwork is not too out of the ordinary - which for Gag authors..... actually means good. I don't know why so many newcomer gag authors have horrible drawings =P (See Jump's 2009 Gag Wajimania and 2008's Poseidon High.... -_-)

This author draw girls cutely too. If author keep his comedy quality from previous one-shot or upp it through experience I look forward to enjoying it every week along with Inumarudashi...... Probably the best gag introduced these 5 years in Jump excluding Inumaru. (I'm counting freshcomers only, and Jaguar is not my cup of tea.)

I totally agree. I'm enjoying the mini-arcs too :) More importantly, I hope the Japanese fans are enjoying them (according to a recent chapter, they are, but who knows). I would really hate to see Mago go before its time :scry

For clarification's sake, since it was asked a few pages ago:
Light Wing does in fact end in this issue! So, starting #13 we'll be seeing a new series taking the dead last spot. (And I have a bad feeling I won't like how things will evolve... >_>)

Oh, so it does end... While I'm not sad to see Light Wing go, I think I'm with you in having a bad feeling I won't like the new developments of who ends up as the new bottom dweller :darn I'm torn between wanting good new series and wanting lousy new series to buffer the series I like that are now near the bottom, namely Oumaga and Mago D:

↑ Exactly my thoughts! I want this year to be better than the last in terms of new series, but at the same something has to be the bottom fodder. Japanese readers can be fickle. Their preferences can lean towards one thing today and another thing tomorrow.

After a little while Jump axes yet another series, oh well, 2010 was pretty much a year bad for new series, 2011 started recently, nothing big so far from this year. Aside from Enigma none survived the previous year, let us see how this year will start.

So the fairy tale thing is a gag manga huh? I'm not really a fan of them but it will be interesting to see how it does. As far as

All of this Medaka Box love lately is weirding me out. Its like I can almost finally end my crusade to get people to stop underestimating it. Well, at least on MH anyway though I'm not a fan of the large amounts of Zenkichi lately. Kumagawa and everyone else helps to offset that though. As far as an anime goes, if they have one announced for fall or next spring that would be good. That will give it 2.5-3 years of content which will help with pacing.

I am behind on Mago. I noticed near the halfway mark of the Gitsune arc it started to get sloppy. If it is bringing back all of that filler nonsense from the earlier parts of the manga I won't be in a rush to catch up anytime soon.

Not really interested in Grimm or the Soccer manga. Magico could be interesting, I'll read chapter one assuming it's translated. I'm really looking forward to Sengoku Armor, the one shot had a lot of potential.

Grimm was okay, but not the kind of thing I'm likely to follow. Still holding out for Sengoku Armors and the Magica guy's hat.

I'm not reallyco sure what to expect with Magica. From what I can tell trying it seems harmless. I'm actually kind of excited for Sengoku though. Hopefully the mangaka has the good taste to make it a Gamaran-esque battle royalle.

First thing that popped out to me was that skull. Reminds me of Enigma because it's also faced on it's side. The character design for the girl seems weak, like I've seen it before 100 times. Since there's a cat involved I'm going to check it out.

I'm kind of on the fence. The picture's not very indicative at all. For all I know, it could end up being horror, gag, adventure, or action.

Any information on the author, or previous one shots?

Meh picture looks boring BUT like all new series, I'll give it a try regardless. Maybe it'll surprise me.

Iwamoto, Magico's author, did lots of one shots compared to other newbies (I think). He submitted eight one shots (from 2001 to 2003) for monthly awards. Iwamoto released four one shots in Akamaru Jump, and two one shots in Shonen Jump. His most recent one shot is 'Kuromitsu-sama Mairu!' on 2009.
