Chapter one of Sensei no Bulge was impressive, this series has quite a bit of potential. I started a thread here, if anyone wants to discuss chapter one.

They may want to preview it to English audiences. Jump used to post three or four chapters of new series, translated into English, to their website. This could be the same idea, only they'd post to SJ Alpha rather than WSJ Japan.

In an intresting bit of news it seems Balge will be put out in english soon (probably on SJ Alpha) kinda surprised they wanna take a risk with a newer series though...more reason to hope it doesn;t tank I guess

He probably just meant the first chapter on the English Shonen Jump web site. They do that with most new series(it's kind of a tease though since pretty much none of them get licensed). I doubt he meant Shonen Jump Alpha.

Good point. The fact that there;s an offical english title for it already has me curious though. They don;t normally do that this far in advance do they?

Hmm...That's also a good point. They kept the original titles of Haikyu, Nisekoi and Kurogane....though I have no idea if those words even translate to an English word or if they need to be.

Having a brand new series on SJ Alpha would be great, though it seems unlikely that they would chance it on an untested series from an author that isn't exactly a hit maker.

Nisekoi's name, at least, was translated. It literally means "Fake Love".

I could see them doing it just to test out the idea for future series.

I'd understand if it was Murata's new series or by someone remotely successful. But this one had his first series cancelled pretty quickly and this is his comeback, which doesn't really strike me as a hit yet(even though it's good).Don't know if they would take that risk.

Shounen Jump Alpha is actually very fertile grounds to introduce new series, when I'm thinking about it.

It's digital, and it's subscriptions-based. All they need to do is put the first chapter in Alpha (as a "preview") and poll the readers. If it polls well, it goes. Even if it's cancelled in the real Jump, that kind of practice can only help Alpha since the series polled good enough to be translated.

And I doubt the amount of votes would be significant enough, but they could take it a step further and use the English polls alongside Jap ones when deciding whether to cancel it or not. It's one step further to globalization of manga.

I think that's been mentioned before, but the English-speaking audience doesn't affect sales much, so I don't think it'd really be the deciding factor of the thing getting canceled.

I didn't say deciding factor, but even with a 100 to 10 vote ratio, the 10 votes can (and should) be counted in the decision.
It won't turn around any Metalluca, but it might decide between two closely-voted series.

This is all speculation anyway, so I'll stop here.

残念なお知らせ。
しばらく水曜は無理かも。お店側でなんかあったみたい。
明日になります。
ohana won't be posting the TOC until tomorrow. It seems like something happened at the store where she usually buys Jump from.

Hopefully Heiji, T, or some random person will upload the TOC tonight.

It seems like the guy who did the Welcome to the Competetive Dancing Club oneshot and Onani Master Kurosawa will have a short 3 chapter serialization starting from next issue onwards.
