It's not like there aren't another dozen magazines besides WSJ, where someone doesn't have to compete with OP and Co. Is there a reason why mangaka shouldn't work under some pressure? It's their job to bring good performances, anything else would be an analog to communism. It's a tough business, WSJ is at the top and only constantly successful manga should stay there. How do you expect such hits to come up, when the editorial staff can't change and cancel [old&new] series?wanted to do 1 thing well done, in my opinion, could make 1 new manga magazine where they can create their own series without the pressure of TOC and sales.
P.S.: I don't think every mangaka goes into this by thinking they will create another hit like Toriko, Bleach and Co.
