wanted to do 1 thing well done, in my opinion, could make 1 new manga magazine where they can create their own series without the pressure of TOC and sales.
It's not like there aren't another dozen magazines besides WSJ, where someone doesn't have to compete with OP and Co. Is there a reason why mangaka shouldn't work under some pressure? It's their job to bring good performances, anything else would be an analog to communism. It's a tough business, WSJ is at the top and only constantly successful manga should stay there. How do you expect such hits to come up, when the editorial staff can't change and cancel [old&new] series?

P.S.: I don't think every mangaka goes into this by thinking they will create another hit like Toriko, Bleach and Co.

The thing about Jump is that new series don't have to compete with One Piece or Naruto. They only need to out compete Magico, Kurogane, or Pajama na Kanojo. And if that is to much, they can always try again a few years later. Look at the line ups for the other big shounen anthologies: Sunday, Shounen Magazine, and Shounen Champion are full of veteran mangaka. Unlike Jump there are only a limited number of first, or even second, time serializations.

Well, obvious that the mangaka return to make a new series, but what I regret that many times and always drop series just because they go pretty bad ...

hours will drop most likely Magico and Kurogane, then will touch all the other new, that sooner or later collapse in touch, and sales, I see hard, considering that nisekoi is strongest at the moment and that has not sold a lot .. .

just want to jump to a new one piece and naruto, but if they continue like this, when those 3-4 manga will end, will have nothing to bet on.

Just like when Dragonball, Rurouni Kenshin, Dr. Slump, JoJo's, Hokuto no Ken, YuYu, and Slam Dunk ended? Since they clearly have always struggled to find popular, new manga, it will obviously be well nigh impossible to replace Naruto and Bleach. You are aware Jump had popular series before Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece? They have had to replace popular manga before, you know.

One Piece is not ending any time soon.

Of course I know, but if they continue like this, droppando series after 20-30-40 chapters, I do not see how they can hope to replace them ...

one piece end sooner or later, hopefully.

His point is they said the same thing after Dragon Ball, Yu Yu Hakusho, Rurouni Kenshin, Slam Dunk, etc ended...

Actually some of the new series are doing relatively good. There was a bad period in 2010, beginning of 2011 where all new series were cancelled immediately but lately it is not that bad. Nisekoi is a great success, Kurogane had a good start which will probably save it for a few round, HQ is also having very high rank for a new serie.
Maybe you don't like that magico is going to be cancelled but it has been serialized for more than a year now. But it's true that it is probably sadder for the fans to have a rush ending after quite a number of volumes than when it is just 2.

well, if you look at the sales, most new series from WSJ tops almost all other new series from other magazines. (except for outliers like Shingeki no Kyojin)
so technically, based on the hard-cold facts, this IS so far the best system for finding strong-selling series.
why abandon a system that appears to be working?

also, in most circumstances, if a series don't sell a lot at 20-30-40 chapters, it is unlikely for that series to become a blockbuster hit.

It's weird they'd serialize Takamagahara instead of Hungry Joker.

Just because another entry from the Golden Future Cup became serialized doesn't mean the winner won't.

Nurarihyon no Mago was published after winning the 2007 Golden Future Cup. Another entry, MUDDY, got published too, by Sho Aimoto, who'd later create Hokenshitsu.

Yes but we are already late in 2012 now, the next golden cup will soon start before hungry joker is serialized if it continues. Haven't all the previous winners started in the first semester ?

You got a point there. The latest a Golden Future Cup winner had debut on the WSJ magazine so far was Metallica Metalluca and that was in Issue 24, 2010 after winning in 2009.

Yes, I'm aware of that. What I find strange is that Takamagahara got serialized first before Joker despite getting 5th place (Correct me If I'm mistaken).
As for Muddy's case, a lot of people find it more interesting than Nurarihyon at the time therefore I'm guessing it has only a close gap to its rank. But with Takamagahara (5th) and Joker (1st), it's indeed quite strange. Another thing that's strange is what k-dom said, the next golden future cup'll be soon yet not a word about Joker. But it's still early to speculate, Mago got serialized on 2008 around the Issues 15-17. And Muddy got serialized around the time Psyren got serialized so it's probably around Issue 2-3 of the same year. In other words, the next serialization meeting. If there's still no word about Joker in the next new serials, then that just confirms it.

Probably just means mangaka has not submitted something ready for serialization. All I can think of is that it is like the beginning of Bakuman, when they were submitting idea's to their editor.

It is not as though the winning mangaka has to serialize the winning one shot. They usually do, but not always. Amano Youichi (mangaka of Akaboshi), winner of the first Golden Cup, did not serialize his winning entry, serializing Over Time instead. Maybe Tabata is not going to serialize Hungry Joker, but something else instead. That would explain the delay.

Point is that using the same business model Jump has weathered the ending of countless popular manga over the last 33 years. More likely than not they will survive and thrive without Naruto and Bleach too. It is not as though Naruto and Bleach have been the only hits Jump has produced in the last ten years.

Toriko would automatically take the place of Naruto or Bleach depending on which ends first. If not Toriko then Gintama or one of the more popular mangas. The biggest hit will be when One Piece ends but then again One Piece volume sales have started to decrease after the absurd amount they were selling before.

Jump has had a Dark age already, so I think that it will survive no doubt when Naruto and BLEACH end, its likely that the circulation numbers will decline, but not too much, the problem IMO is when OP ends, that's likely to cause a major decline in circulation, not that it will happen any time soon.

But its important to note that JUMP is like a big-gigantic pamphlet, its like a big add for the tankoubons, if it breaks-even then its OK since the money is on the tanks, so even without the gigantic circulation it would thrive.. Just look at almost every other magazine with lower circulation numbers.

The Shueisha webiste lists that Nisekoi volume 1 and 2 will be getting a reprinting again on July 6.

The strange thing is that Nisekoi volume 2 hasn't even been released yet......

The ONLY magazine where a mangaka doesn't have to compete with OP and Naruto is WSJ. In fact, serializing in WSJ means enjoying OP's readership and having a much easier time being known.

The only thing harder about WSJ than other magazines is competing with the other new series. I don't know why Jump is always judged for "pitting newcomers against" OP and Naruto, it's clearly the opposite.

(not replying to you specifically, just that sentiment)
