Ah, I'm not saying its at CLAMP's level. CLAMP is like, a class of their own. But still, there was just something about it that reminded me of them. I haven't read Mago, though I read the first chapter and wasn't impressed with its artwork then. I guess its difficult to pin down considering I'm judging one chapter next to dozens of serialized work.
I had read the first chapter or so of nura and then the coloured chapters released in our viz mag here, I remember being blown away by the art and detail.

In my circle of discusssion Hiroshi Shiibashi is considered very good and it was one the best, or the best, art when Nurarihyon no Mago was being released. I'm impressed to seeing criticizes. Well, the first chapter of the manga doesn't bring the best of the art most of the time. It's understandable, I think.

This year is even 10TH anniversary for Reborn!.Do they do something for it like DN?
Death Note is more popular than Reborn, that's why it gets special attention. If the publisher have to do anniversary for Reborn, that means Shueisha basically have make some kind of anniversary for every finished series out there.

Reborn ran for eight years and it's merchandise sold as crazy throughout (and even after) that period. I think Reborn deserves a celebration this year.

Death Note started in '03, so if there's a celebration for it, they are late. If that's the case, we could still expect a Reborn celebration later this year, probably.

Comparing Death Note, which seemed potentially like a cultural phenomenon, with Reborn is odd. In any case, Reborn has Tsuna in the newest jump game, got some recent collab art with Akira Amano's eldlive...Dont really know what celebration Reborn would necessarily need...

If they did that, they should had made 20th year anniversary for Slam Dunk and Yu-Yu-Hakusho and 30th year anniversary for Dr.Slump on 2010; and 30th year anniversary for Dragon Ball and 20th year anniversary for Midori no Makibou for this year, as well.

The publisher isn't going to give some kind of anniversary for every finished series, so I don't think Reborn going to get some kind of anniversary.

They usually give special anniversary for series which brought cultural phenomena (as Sharkbait said), and I don't think Reborn is popular enough to brought cultural phenomena in Japan.

10th anniversary is more important than 20th and 20th

Why do you think 10th anniversary is more important than 20th and 30th? I can't really see the difference.

Plus, as I said, the series that made cultural phenomena still able get special attention even they completed. For Reborn, it is popular, but it is not as big as to start cultural phenomena.

Reborn was just another action manga. Death Note was a pop culture phenomenon similar to how Shingeki is right now. It was something bigger than manga, a major crossover success. At it's height, Reborn had some crossover appeal to fujoshi, but was mostly something with little reach beyond core action manga fans. It's sales were solid, but not "crazy". If it were serialzied today Reborn would sell less than Assassination Classroom and Kuroko. The anime was not well received. Reborn was not that heavily merchandised, by Japanese standards. Reborn was never as heavily promoted as Gintama. It was never even close to true merchandising behemoths like Tohou Project, KanColle, Kagepro, or The Idolm@ster. I doubt Jump does anything for Reborn's tenth, or D. Gray Man's, for that matter. Neither even run in the magazine anymore. Reborn was never even close to comparable to Death Note or Gintama, both of which are getting recognition for their tenth anniversaries. Gintama is on the spine this year, just like they did for Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece.

Death Note started in issue #1, 2004. Issue one is almost always released in December, with a copyright for the following year. Death Note is copyrighted for 2004. Manga are generally copyrighted for when the first volume comes out, not the first chapter. Death Note started about three weeks before new years.

Reborn sold better than Gintama, and had an anime of 203 episodes,I doubt that with all these episodes it wasn't a succes, and in the last time it doesn't sell much, but in previous volumes, around 20th-30th volume,it sold very much,600-700k

I'm saying this again, the series that made cultural phenomena still able get special attention even they completed. For Reborn, it is popular, but it is not as big as to start cultural phenomena.

Reborn had high tank sale and long-running anime, but it doesn't mean that it started the cultural phenomena. If your argument worked, then Eyeshield 21 also should have gotten 10th year anniversary on 2012.

When I look at the past examples, they made a special anniversary for Kinnikuman, Jojo, Hokuto no Ken, Saint Seiya, and Rurouni Kenshin (there possibly be more, but I don't remember). When I compared these series to Reborn, I doubt they going to do it.

Hack, I think it should be more beneficial to do the 10th year anniversary for D.Gray-man than Reborn.

The anime was a children's show, airing early in the morning. Kid's shows last longer, even if they are not doing great. The ones that do well last forever. There are kid's anime that are still airing for forty years. Reborn's ratings were never anything special, the show was not well liked, and it was canceled after about four years. We all acknowledged Reborn sold well. Sales say nothing about overall popularity. Just because Reborn sold well doesn't mean it was popular with the general Japanese population. It was popular within a specific niche. Action manga have the advantage of being marketed to pre-teen boys, who tend to buy more manga than the population in general. Gintama is a much more popular franchise than Reborn ever was. Gintama's popularity is based on mixed media, the anime is more of a driving force than it is for most Jump comics. From what I have seen Gintama is a series popular with the general population, not just manga fans, and not just a specific age group. It can't rely on 12 year action fans to boost sales.

...That argument only works when we are talking about the rankings of early series, and that's less about the Japanese minds and more about subjective tastes. This is about a business decision, and it would make no sense from a business standpoint to do something for Reborn!'s 10th anniversary, meanwhile it makes a lot of sense for them to do something for Death Note's 10th anniversary.
I understand you're a big Reborn! fan, but you need to look past your biases and just accept that Reborn! isn't going to get anything.

What would you have WSJ to do to celebrate Reborn?

No one is taking away Reborn's fame and success, keep that in mind.
But to JUMP, Death Note is just so much more valuable, not just cause of how much it sold, but for the attention it gained.
It's along the lines of comparing "The Godfather" to, I don't know, "The Amazing Spider-man". While the latter is entertaining and earned well, the former is iconic and will probably be remembered for a very long time.

Where would the financial gain be in that though?
Especially for a completed series like Reborn! that in the long-run of Jump series will just end up being forgotten by most like most Jump battle series of medium popularity.
Reborn! was no Dragon Ball, Kenshin, or Yu Yu Hakusho as those series still have avid fanbases even today despite their series having ended a long time ago.

I'm a little surprised there hasn't been an english Edited Manga of Illegal Rare yet.
You'd expect that since it's by the mangaka of Nurahiyon there'd be one already.

The raw came out only two days ago. Too soon for any group to pick it up IMO.
