Even though it stays at bottom 5, I doubt the editors going to axe Bleach.
Well with its pacing it is still on a direct trajectory to end first half this year. Unless Kubo has some special arrangement there is no way it will still be around when issue #1, 2015 comes out.

If you say to end first half of this year, then it means Bleach going to end by within 20 chapters. It is no way Bleach going to end within 20 chapters.

Ichigo is litrally right there in position for final battle, he just needs six chapters to fight, one chapter epilogue. I imagine the next four or five chapters after this week is just getting people in position. Theres nothing left to be done.

Ichigo hasn't even arrived yet, so you can't really say that the battle going to be over by around next six chapters. Plus, the final arc going to focus on final 10 days (or 7 days or something), and it only has been like just 1 or 2 days.

Bleach will not going to end within 20 chapters.

Fullbringers haven't come back into the story
Grimmjow wasn't revealed
Zero squad hasn't fought
Kenpachi's bankai wasn't shown
Only one out of the "nine last days" have passed?

Exactly. Plus, Bleach isn't like Beelzebub; Bleach will end naturally. Furthermore, Bleach is in final arc, so it will not continue like another 10 years.

I cannot believe we are having another discussion about Bleach.

Kaizou is right. It will NOT end anytime soon.
Kubo has literally been taking it as slow as 4 chapters for one sternritter. We have more than 10 sternritters left. Even if you take 2 chapters per sternritter, it would be 20-30 chapters. And that would exclude the main villains (Yhwach and Haschwald) and all the things that Zogobob said.

No comparison can be used for Bleach's case. Not Beelzebub, Nura, Shaman King nothing.
Unless you have a series that has sold more than 70 million volumes, gotten an anime of 300+ episodes, rock musicals, novels, 4 movies and so many games (Basically a franchise in almost every way possible) no other example can be used as a comparison to Bleach. It was one of the 3 pillars for WSJ for almost a decade. They will show Kubo that much respect and let him finish this one final arc. If Bleach was in the middle of the arrancar arc and this happened, then yes it would have been in trouble. But not now.

Bleach will end next year sometime, at the earliest. Definitely not this year.

Can we not have a discussion about Bleach every week the TOC is posted guys? I'm a Bleach fan and I find it annoying to keep seeing that name here all the time. No disrespect to anyone.

Remember though that this is Jump. A story doesn't necessarily get to take its time make everything clean if Jump wants it rushed to an ending.
They probably gave Kubo a set date like Takei, and if Kubo decides to continue lollygagging then they will just axe it without an ending like they did Shaman King.

Of course we are having this conversation. Bleach is ranked second from the bottom this week.

It will. Bleach's time is limited. Whether it is next fall, or very early in 2015, Bleach will probably have ended by this time next year.

True, Kubo is the king of stretching.

Bleach is not the series it used to be. It's anime ended, it's sales have dropped, it ranks near the bottom of nearly ever TOC. Bleach never was in the same class as One Piece, Naruto, and Hunter x Hunter. It's long since been passed by Kuroko. Assassination Classroom is passing it, Soma is catching up, Nisekoi's profile is high, and the marketing campaign for the upcoming Haikyuu anime is well underway. Bleach is a lion in winter. Jump will not let it coast on past success. What it was in 2007 counts for nothing in 2014. Bleach will be allowed to finish out this arc, but it's remaining time is extremely limited. Once these fights are done, Bleach is done. This arc will not drag out the way Hueco Mundo did. Not with how badly it has ranked for the last few years. There is a real chance that Bleach ends later this year, possibly in the fall.

We can have this post as often as it is relevant. When a series consistently places as low as Bleach in the TOC, it is going to be a talking point. Asking other members not to talk about something that is on topic and relevant to the current TOC is very disrespectful.

I wonder if people were saying stuff like "Bleach will end this time next year'' last year or the one before. Rhetorical question, no need to answer at all.

Even if they were, Bleach is in a much worse position than it ever has been and its situation getting worse.
Also, if both Illegal Rare and Stealth Symphony end up being successes I can see Jump forcing Kubo to end Bleach even sooner than we've talked about.

But let's be serious here(and your opinion may vary) some of these things aren't really needed.
The final battle doesnt need to last 9 days(in fact if it does last 9 days then Juha wins doesnt he?) and seriously who gives a f##k about Zero Squad?
Kenpachi's shikai and bankai are probably the only neccesary things from that list.
So keeping that in mind IF the zero quad never join the battle and Grimmjow and Fullbringers are kept as minor affairs than the series wont drag as much(will end before summer 2015 IMO).

Agreed. It's just like something someone one said in another forum. Fans keep saying oh next issue this will happen then eventually it DOES happen and they go like "see? Predictable...". Know what I mean?

Uh, I think it's obvious Bleach is ending. When that is, I'm not sure. If it keeps being right at the end of the ToC, it stands to reason it'll happen sooner than most would think or hope. I don't think it's wise to assume otherwise, this is WSJ after all.

Exactly. People keep bringing up things that haven't happened yet in the story, but the thing is these things don't necessarily have to happen if a series is cancelled. Countless Jump series (the majority honestly) have not been able to properly conclude their series the way they might have wanted to due to the vigorous and competitive nature of the Jump rankings. Bringing up the plot is not a good argument when discussing the possibility of a series being cancelled in Jump.

However, you have to know that there really aren't much examples for Jump series which sell like at least 500,000 copies per volume and ranked really low. So far, we only had example like series that continued like 1 year or had a tank sale like 200,000 per volume. Bleach is one of rare case in Jump.

If you guys think the ranking is more important than popularity, then Stone Ocean should have axed by like 3 volumes despite of being popular.

Popularity = fans. Fans vote in the ToC and fans say no to Bleach, I am sure Bleach had more dedicated fans in the past, heck I was one as well, I am on the "it declined in quality" train. Too bad ofc, the manga was good, but Kubo and his writing drew people off and most could not take it anymore no matter how open minded to manga they were.

An obvious decline in popularity is not because people say so since they don't like Bleach, it is because fans of the series that used to like it, don't like it anymore, have dropped or don't think highly of it. that's a sad truth, otherwise "popularity" would be higher for it.

I think it seems that the ones buying it probably arent the ones voting in the survey or perhaps may not even read WSJ magazine either.

Most prefer Volumes ofc, so they buy volumes and the sales argument in based on the Volumes. However Jump wants the magazine to sell as well. Meh, it's way more expensive to buy wsj every week for one manga or two manga or even three, and less expensive to just buy the volumes of your favorite manga.

Exactly, you guys shouldn't think all of Bleach fans in Japan going to buy WSJ magazine and vote for Bleach. There are also many people who just buy volumes rather than follow by the chapters.

Even though Bleach's popularity has decreased, it is still one of most popular series in Jump. So, I don't think Jump going to axe Bleach.
