[Soul Soul Brigade]

2nd chapter of Accel Star is up on Jump+. I'm still wondering why this wasn't put in the main magazine.

6 chapters of Mononofu have been translated. I like the characterization of the main character. I also enjoy how all the characters interact with each other. My only complaint, and this has been since the beginning, is that the author doesn't focus enough on the shogi. This is a manga about competitive shogi, and the shogi just kind of happens. There are no thorough explanations on why the moves that are played work. It's just kind of like "oh no, you did 'that' and now I've lost." The mangaka's doing a lot of telling and not showing.

Accel Star is the first one shot from Rookie Jump ever to get a series right? it's gonna be interesting seeing if more of them get serialized

for every 100 awful one shots & mini series you read occasionally every now & then you find a hidden gem there

I agree. Mononofu is like Kurogane during the first 10 chapters

Beginner takes an interesting in a sport/shogi, then meet a rival who has lost a match or in Kurogane's case was injured. The rival still hasn't given up hope of becoming pro. Both MCs have some sort of power. Kurogane's MC can see other people reflex and react to it, Mononofu's MC has the power to analyze the move

, and we know how Kurogane went.

27k sales for hinomaru 7th volume is awful, iirc illegal rare sold more than that although it got axed

also, 24k for straighten up isn't something worthy of praise either, but it's just the first volume we will have to wait & see where it goes from here

Sesuji had a lot of stock issues and the reprint is coming soon, so I think that number's ok

Iwashiro is done with wsj, this is his third failure after Mieru Hito & Psyren, it's almost certain that they won't let him back in the magazine

maybe he could try young jump or square jump & that only if if Shueisha chooses to renew his contract

if you ask me i think he should consider a career as an editor since he have an eye for talent & most of his assistants have become published authors themselves
