like the post above me say, it's a Jump gag manga, those don't usually have a great art

I wasn't talking about the art at all though, it was the placement of the characters that bothered me.

The art looks better than what I've seen for Saiki Kusuo and Isobee. Those two manga are downright uuuugly.

Isobee art is different not bad, bad art is the first chapter of Kuroko for example.
Talking for Devily-man, The boy in that cover remember me Obata style.

As many have said in the above posts, having great art isn't very crucial for gag manga. Sometime having crappy art make the gag manga more appealing.
The art for Onepunch man is literally chicken doodle. It didn't stop it from being a popular gag manga! Murata is remaking it and it is going to get an anime soon.
Admitedly, the art for Saiki Kusuo was really below average at the beginning. But it really got better along the way. I'm following the series regularly so I can attest to that.
Isobe art kinda work for the story is telling.
But it comes down to personal preference.
I really don't like Toriko artstyle. So, it is kinda hard for me to get into it.

Jet Black Wing is far from ugly, just look at him.

It's not about how good looking the character is. It's aesthetic wise. CallMeTsuyu doesn't like the artstyle which is understandable.
Though Saiki without glasses is more good looking than Shun.

Do you guys consider any comedy manga to be a "gag" manga? I'm asking because I usually think of gag manga as those series which have lower number of pages per chapter than normal, like PSI and Isobe. That's not the case for Devily-Man. Beside that, the oneshot seemed to have some serious investigation parts, so I also think it isn't a pure comedy manga.
