So the problem last year was not Boku no Hero, it was Nichigo.

I wonder if Boku's first season had 25 episodes and it had been shown on Conan's block if the boost would not have been much bigger...

So Cross Account and Shudan have reached the 12th chapter, with Hungry Marie in the bottom and Spring Weapon there also I have problems guessing which one will be axed first...
They should come along with 4 new series. It is taking so long to have a new batch that I wonder if there is anything to do with the new editor in chief and he putting things in order before starting to change the line up.

Yall think Haiykuu/MHA will pass bleach in sales

It's unlikely they get to Naruto let alone OP.

But could they get to where bleach is at.

I think Haikyuu could get there. If it gets some boost. Plus I heard the series can/will go on to be a 10+ years series. So there's that.

Didn't Haikyuu already surpass Bleach in popularity? I thought Bleach couldn't reach the 1 million mark in a given year for a single volume.

In Oricon numbers it surpassed, but in terms of 1st print the magazine gives, Bleach got one volume with 1.33 Million, while haikyuu!! believe the best was 900k

Maybe not MHA, although I'll wait until next week to judge any increase in physical sales. Again though, it's hard to compare when we're in a time where digital sales are on the big rise.

Bleach is not an easy series to pass regardless of its decline because it has over 90 million in print in Japan. There are two ways for MHA/Haikyu to surpass Bleach:
1) Become a sales monster like Attack on Titan having first prints of over 2 million so that it will not need to have nearly as many volumes as Bleach to reach over 90 million
2) Last as long or longer than Bleach

The problem though is that number two would still be difficult because the longer a series goes on the more likely it is that a decline will happen. Also Bleach volumes 18-49 all had first prints of 1 million or more whilst neither Haikyu or MHA are regulars right now when it comes to having a million first print for a volume. In fact MHA hasn't reached that level yet for any volume.

I don't know. I think the era of the million sellers has passed. SnK only got it because before the anime it was already selling 700k.
I mean, some manga may achieve this in long-term, but in the first weeks as it was ten years ago with NANA, DN, Naruto, FMA, etc, I don't think so. AssClass and OPM made me understand that.

Yonk had to delete his tumblr when the manga police were lurking for the same reason, he used to spoil a bunch of mainstream titles (OP, FT, MHA, AoT, NNT). A Chinese dude on Baidu snitched on him for whatever reason. I read the article, those people made millions for just trafficking OP scans. That's insane to me how someone can make that much money just for manga magazines.

Kingdom can become a million seller if it got an anime reboot.

It would be cool if TPN/Yuragi/KnY got close to becoming a million copy seller but that's unlikely. TPN has the best chance out of the three.

The Ame Talk move was very good for Neverland (and for Kingdom too). I believe it can at least achieve what Haikyuu sells. Of course if the story had more horror and death than sherlockisms the odds would be higher XD

Kingdom is off topic for this thread but an anime reboot will not do it any favours in terms of boosts. You can have it be remade with whatever favourite studio, but it will not give it a big boost, if any at all. AmeTalk is basically the highest form of exposure any series can get. While it didn't get a full episode like Kingdom, Neverland has been featured properly for a few minutes on AmeTalk and even that has given it a boost as soon after all the volumes rose up in the rankings. Kingdom is growing on its own at a steady state but don't expect any boosts from any anime reboot.

Yeah which is why I think out of the two of them Haikyuu has the chance to.

I heard it has more room to last longer.

Bleach may have been left in the dust by OP and Naruto.

But yeah it's looking like no series post 2001(it's debut year) is out doing it in sales.
It's keeping it's place in the top 13(I think it's at least top 15)

AOT I thought could. But I think AOT is ending in the 80 Mills.

I would say AOT WW sales will help but I don't think so. AOT is huge in outside of JPN only in US and Canada. But it's not a real WW heavyweight like a OP, Naruto or Bleach.

I saw this Death Note image on the Shonen Jump Plus site.
Does it mean Death Note has reached 40,000,000 copies in print?
Someone can answer me?

They're posting 400 pages online to promote the movie.

In terms of manga released since 2001 I agree only Attack On Titan can pass Bleach in total sales. However we still don't know how much Bleach has sold outside of Japan.
There are still people who believe Bleach has not crossed the 100 million mark when adding worldwide numbers which is almost impossible.

US Sales - 2.6 Million: https://www.viz.com/news/newsroom/v/1006443

French Sales - 4 million(very good estimate): Only sales of volumes 17-71 have been shown and the total for those volumes is 2,618,940. The highest print for a volume is 60k and the early volumes were slow burners which is why they never ranked. It is reasonable to assume that volumes 1-16 have each reached 60k through reprints as they are the oldest volumes and cover a good portion of the Soul Society arc. That adds on 960,000 and all that is left is volumes 72-74 which should make up sales of 30k each as last year volumes were selling 34k. So 2,618,940+960,000+90,000 = 3.67 million(roughly). The remaining 330k would come from any subsequent reprints for volumes other than the first 16.

German Sales - 800k: http://tokyopop.de/aktuell/bleach-abschied/

Bleach reached 90 million at volume 73: http://www.mangamag.fr/actualite/ac...ews-lactualite-manga-japon-22-septembre-2016/
We know volume 74 has sold over 500k when you combine the amount it sold in 2016 and the amount it sold during the first half of this year.

Therefore Total Bleach sales worldwide = 90,500,000(Japan)+2,600,000(US)+4,000,000(France)+800,000(Germany) = 97,900,000

Remember that this number represents sales from Japan and three countries outside of Japan. But the real thing that proves that it has surpassed 100 million is the fact that Bleach manga has been printed in over 30 countries according to Lucca Comics and Games where Kubo will be a guest this year in Italy.
Source: https://www.luccacomicsandgames.com/it/2017/comics/ospiti/tite-kubo/

Final: 27 plus countries unaccounted for and just over 2 million to make up. Some of those are countries where manga is very popular such as Thailand, Indonesia, China etc.

Damn it took me so long to gather all this information and write it but considering Shueisha will probably never reveal its worldwide numbers this is the closest we can get to having an idea of its performance.

You gotta read the latest Takeshi chapter, has a lot of Slam Dunk references and Shimabu makes his first appearance I think. It's great.
