Imo Yu Yu Hakusho did the best job with its romance

Toriko. No really, Rin asking Toriko to marry her and Toriko's response was golden. Everyone else's reaction too.

Baby Steps have great romance, I don't know if there's anything better but that's my personal favorite, especially from series that don't have it as a 'main' plot. Nicely build-up, doesn't force it until the last episode and great chemistry between chars. From the ones that focus more on romance I love Amano Megumi now, even though the series is far from being original it have such a nice without-most-bullshit-cliche-shit-shounen-romcoms-force-into-readers plot (except the THICC plot Megumi have, but that's a plus or even 4 pluses for me), really simple, warm read.

I can't really think of a battle manga with legitimately good romance. Sure, there are those that have great romantic moments here and there, but they are all too stretched out and vague for me to consider them great or anything. Not that it matters.

Big J is not the right place to look for outstanding romance manga. I suppose I liked the main relationship in Medaka Box alright. That was pretty fresh.

My personal favorites are more niche stuff, like the Love Roma or Fujimi Lovers. That stuff is incredible.

Just as there is good shounen out there, there is good shoujo. Don't classify all of them as boring. You not liking it is one thing, but calling all shoujo boring is another.

Just as there is good shounen out there, there is good shoujo. Don't classify all of them as boring. You not liking it is one thing, but calling all shoujo boring is another.

"Shoujo is boring" is kind of an internal joke among Brazilian people. It was born when the editor in chief of one the publishers here said that they don't publish Shoujo because it is boring arising protests from Shoujo fans. Since then we joke about that. @G_I_A will understand, probably. XD

I don't read Shoujo enough to say anything, it is indifferent for me.

Horimiya is not Shoujo though. As far as I know. :O

Homeage? Most likely yes. Repeat? No.

I disagree with it being the best romance (it wasn't even amazing to begin with). It was just a funny proposal and Toriko acceptance made sense but we got nothing as to why Rin liked him. Not a lot of substance to the romance to begin with.

Best romance in a jump title would probably be in YYH.

Kenshin seriously isn't on the top of your mind? I feel like it's about the only SJ manga that actually ties the romance subplot seamlessly into the main story.

The best manga that ever came out in JUMP actually have the best romance subplot. Hope you guys know that I'm talking about Hokuto no Ken.
